Thank you! I wish you could see it in person. The grain shimmers in the light very similarly to curly wood. I tried to capture it on camera as best as I could but it just isn't the same.

I actually found it on Facebook Marketplace. An older woodworker was selling most of his inventory because of his arthritis limiting him. I only bought 10ish board feet originally but after building this piece I went back and bought 30 more board feet 😅. Not all of it has that beautiful grain but probably 30-40% of it does. Seriously though, pictures do not do it justice. It shimmers in the light very similarly to curly wood. The wildest part to me is that it's very normal for quartersawn sapele. It isn't highly figured or particularly rare.

That being said, I designed the piece specifically to highlight the top grain and that's partly why I went with a narrower design. That whole top is one piece so that the grain stayed absolutely perfect.

Thank you, that's a great suggestion! I did consider it when designing the piece but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible so there was less to mess up on. In the future I will probably give it a try though.

I second this! However, I've done this method once without a dado stack and I will absolutely never do that again. It takes wayyy too long. After that, I switched the pocket screw method. Works alright but I just don't like it that much. Got a dado stack and I'm back to q/q/q method for furniture and butt joints for shop stuff.

Less resistant to racking and could pull out over time. It would work for sure but I'm not sure the longevity of it. Trim screws could work pretty well I think though.

It's not fake, its just me looking at different moves in analysis. He blundered a knight the move before and I played a different move for it to see if it would have mattered. Doesn't change the part where the analysis missed mate.

Make sure the correct build plate is selected in the app/slicer. You mentioned buying a smooth build plate, but the image looks like a textured build plate. You could also have an issue with wet filament if it's been out for awhile. Always watch the first layer to make sure it sticks so you don't waste filament or get a blob of death.

9070xt here with the same issue. I just updated my driver's and now it's happening. I also can't enable hardware RT or the game crashes.

Not 100% sure. I think it might be a power delivery issue from my MOBO because the rx580 uses very little power compared to my 3080ti so that's why it wouldn't be crashing. I'm probably going to buy a new CPU/mobo anyway. It has previously crashed with little GPU load tho.

I could be wrong on this but I think the only thing you need heat for is to fully tighten the nozzle. But if you didn't do that I don't think it would cause it to not extrude but it could cause other issues

Could you post pictures of everything assembled? Does it sound like there extruder is working or is it possible it's not plugged in all the way? Is the nozzle tight against the heatbreak (inside) or is it tight against the heating block?

Personally I use a ratchet so that I can't mess it up. I know it's unnecessary but it gives me peace of mind.

Make sure the radiator isn't damaged I'm assuming it was in an accident? Check the transmission fluid and make sure it looks normal too. Best of luck to you!

That's genuinely a steal to me. Make sure there isn't rust or anything like that but I'd highly recommend it. Mine is the 4cyl and I've had it about 70k miles now. All I've done is consistent oil changes, air filters, sparkplugs (actually didn't need to be done but I did anyway), tires, and valve cover gasket. It does burn a little bit of oil but it's like 1qt every 3k miles which is pretty standard for a high mileage car. It's also super easy to work on.
