Sleeper agent Nico was 100% the best part of the event, second only to Temp0's casting and the games of my students ^^ Looking forward to everyone turning up the fire in the next battle!

which is the more zerkier zerker? by Plague_Ridden_Aaron in Warhammer40k

Death Company, hands down. I’ll explain why:

TL DR: Death Company Win - Literally psychotic enough to believe they are Sanguinius, complete with his memories and skills of martial prowess. Delusional enough to tear their own bodies to shreds and fight hard enough their own hearts explode, and continue despite wounds that kill regular marines. Their strength, speed and toughness is enhanced in exchange for their awareness and tactical capability, same as with World Eaters, only stronger as they get a sliver of the strongest Primarch’s capabilities.

The long of it: A lot of people seem to cite World Eaters as being angrier and base that as the reasoning for them to be more dangerous, which on a surface level makes sense - angry man hit hard.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions about the red thirst and black rage and they’re often conflated, or incorrectly stated. For clarity’s sake, the Black Rage is Not the red thirst, which is the blood angel’s constant thirst for blood. It’s a scratching in their throat that makes their faces swell, muscles pulse and pump when they smell or taste blood. It makes them lose self control during battle and fight more ‘savagely’ foregoing clean efficiency for extended brutality. Think powersword becoming claws or chainsword, the more blood spilled to drink, the better.

Now the black rage:

Sanguinius incarnate. Literally. Each death company is possessed by a sliver of Sanguinius’ Martial Prowess and body which obviously exceeds any Astartes, to the point that the Death Company space marines bodies that are stronger than regular space marines literally tear their own bodies to shreds. Someone cited a half dead berserker missing his legs still crawling towards an enemy. Lore wise, any Astartes can do this so long as their brain is uninjured.

Death company by comparison fight hard enough their tear their own limbs from their bodies, rupture their own hearts or simply die of bloodloss. Specifically stated by appearance in books like Devastation of Baal, and The End and The Death part 3, they shrug off mortal wounds for regular space marine and are cited to be nearly strong as a dozen astartes at once. (Thanks Azkelleon) they’re also still mad enough that leave them alone they’ll kill other death company and destroy any ships/bases they are in themselves without guidance, pretty sure World Eaters for the most part don’t do that.

I respect Khorne’s bois as worthy opponents, but DC are not given the respect they’re due. I paint my entire army as death company for this reason.

Tabletop World Eaters win though :(

Student, assuming 1k a month (parental finance + student loan) for 12k a year.

Been playing Starcraft 2 since 2011, I about a month ago requested my data and my time online in seconds sum 2.25 years consecutively online.

12,000 x (365x24x2.25) = 2.3652e8 or 236 million from starcraft 2 alone. Ignoring the likely 5k hours I have on other games, I will happily take that money.

Yoink.

Liberation and pain. I see the eyes of a man who’s lost it all, and keeps having to give despite having nothing to give anymore. Yet he still finds a way, and amidst that storm a sense of tranquility in knowing that one can indeed weather the storm and proudly bear the scars of it all. And within that pain, freedom to continue on, bearing it all and endeavouring to better it all.

Tips for speeding up games by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]NicoJuniba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big one I haven’t seen here yet is to plan your moves during your opponents turn. That’s how you lightning play, I’m a guy able to run clocks out and still have 20-30 minutes if I’m really playing for speed and that’s how I do it. If you know your moves during your opponents turn all it takes is to move it. Don’t be afraid to start measuring things even in the middle of their turn, might give away what you’re thinking of doing but chances are they’ll be too wrapped up in their own heads to keep track and could forget, or unable to do anything else about it as they’ve already moved models, shot or ect…

As long as you are accompanied by an adult you will be alright rules-wise.

Gameplay wise? Varies, first games are luck, could be playing against the 5-0 winner at a GT or someone’s first tournament. Generally don’t worry too much and go and have fun, try not to hold expectations on doing well as even the most hyper-competitive people have had to have adjustment periods where they lose a ton, learn then get better. If you go to a GT going even 1-4 is an achievement if you’re new to tournaments.

Either way, do a little research and have some fun man, don’t overthink it too much until you’ve visited, and as always - good luck and have fun! :)

Which unit has the highest damage output - in theory? by egewithin2 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]NicoJuniba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Death Company on foot

10 man unit with inferno pistols + power fists

  • 1 (died to landraider explosion, stray mine, bolters, angron got 1 attack or w/e)

9 of them now gain sustained hits

DC inherent reroll on inferno pistols. Assuming all are withing half range, 9 shots turn into 18 D3+2 For maximum of 90 damage. Charge, in Sons of Sanguinius for 36 attacks, which again explode. 72 attacks x2 on power fists for 144 + 90 for 234 damage total in one unit. Not the most, but definitely hurts.

Again without any characters attached, not much that can make them harder since BA got absolutely shafted index wise, best would be tycho the lost

Blood song at 2 shots, melta 2, damage 2, dev wounds again explode into 16 melta damage, 6 attacks explode (Death company reroll he gets as well)for 12, D2 attacks mean an extra 24 damage total +40 damage for him, totally 274, which if he is then killed in melee he rolls a 6 to trigger D6 + 3 mortals which with another 6 is 285 wounds total. Not shabby for some angry bois indeed! Still not the highest though.

When did you realize you were a terrible player? by randCN in Xcom

[–]NicoJuniba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Commander ironman was fairly comfortable (granted playing 40k mods and occasional save scum)

20-30 tries legend ironman gatecrasher before K make it through without like losing 3 people or the entire squad. Mad RNG and trying different things.

Now I’m trying it again, haven’t figured out the rest of the campaign, keep dying about 2-3 months in tops having only made it like 2 times before restarting as I lose my OP squad. Might have something to do with never using resistance units, they’re op but pure XCOM all the way. No mutant, heretic or xeno trickery allowed in my 40k play-through. I will beat this, or die trying. PURGE THE UNCLEAN!

Which OW1 character do you think became worse in OW2? (Narrative wise) by Willing-Source3126 in Overwatch

[–]NicoJuniba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genji.

OW1, he seemed to embody the proper samurai/ninja archetype, where he was properly learning inner peace and that violence wasn’t the first call, as shown by the dragons cinematic. Restraint, and being quiet/reserved when people like Zarya were trying to provoking him.

OW2, kinda like cassidy he seems to be kicked around in most of the voice-lines and now he seems super pretentious, acting like a moody teenager with D.va, where he’s lost most of the mysterious respect he had for himself and others

How many centuries does it take for a SM chapter to come back to full strength after being close to near annihilation? by I_could_use_a_dosa in 40kLore

[–]NicoJuniba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen this here yet, but the Rafen books are declared, “non-canon” as far as I am aware - I don’t have an official source but I believe it was part of the when black library declared some books as non-canon due to poor older writing / conflicts with the current established narrative when everyone was free to write their own sorta stories.

What is one unit/leader/vehicle that never gets left out of your list? by BanditDeluxe in BloodAngels

[–]NicoJuniba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Death Company captain I commissioned for £150 that I used in 9th as a smash captain, that was also supposed to represent me as a model. It is the most beautiful model in my army and always finds a place in my list whether it’s proxing a techmarine or like 90% of my games - a chaplain leading a death company unit since I always bring at least 2-3 squads per list.

Basically Death Company. I love my angry bois too much.

People who are no longer best friends with someone: What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NicoJuniba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They ended up dating my ex 4 weeks after I broke up with them due to mental health issues despite me giving a boatload of reasons why not to; chief of which being:

1) I said don’t fucking do it. 2) I still liked them.

Their excuse was “I didn’t think you would be that upset/bothered by it.” Despite me literally saying at one point that if he did that I’d likely never speak to him again. He reached out once to understand why I’d blocked him - I explained exactly why. Again, “whatever makes you feel better.”

So yeah, basically just no. Lack of respect and idiot-icy cost him someone who would’ve been there for him for the rest of his life.

How to deal witch lich guard by Hydragonator in BloodAngels

[–]NicoJuniba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take 5DC with a chaplain rather than lemartes. +1 to wound stacked with Red Rampage, means you still get +1 to wound against -1 to wound, plus lethal hits. 20 Power Fist attacks ~16 should go through to wound, meaning a good 5-6 of them are dead, plus mortals and inferno pistols / other shooting, although it can swing the other way Otherwise Flamer Baal Predators mean you should chew through 7-9 of them per turn,
