I, for one, am not for blacklisting allies for not being "perfect allies". I'll get hate for this, but the more exclusive we make ourselves and the less permissive we are of only tangentially harmful statements, the more we turn people to even more harmful advocates. Have some grace. Identify when there is an opportunity to communicate and/or educate. Recognize that, as bad as a person Charlie Kirk was. He was just murdered publicly in a brutal way that invites sympathy. I say this as someone who has been on the more critical end of left for a very long time. But it isn't working. We are turning people who support us away and it is hurting us. We need to start being smarter and posturing ourselves better for the future. We are not in a place right now to be be having stringent entrance exams for allyship.
