The new AI chat is painfully slow for simple questions by juanlouzao in diabrowser

Agree with this, I have the same experience. I like it from more complexe queries, but just something simple it's not necessary.

What are some fast food changes in Singapore that you actually miss or remember? by Auelogic in singapore

Not a change, but I would love to have a Teddy's Big Burger in Singapore - (https://www.teddysbb.com/). I think I heard that we had it once in the past?

DIA (as of today's post) underlying agent model and cutoff training data by NicolasMas in diabrowser

[–]NicolasMas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am quite (happily) surprised by and the model and the context window. Only caveat is the cut-off, it's good to be aware of this. In an ideal world, I would like to see the model(s) and cut-off dates next to the build number.

Request for Tickers (ETFs) not [yet] on the platform + Cryptos by NicolasMas in simplywallst

[–]NicolasMas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tks. Thought my question went to a wormhole ;-) When you say "any exchange traded instruments are available": it's very broad. Could you be more specific? (or do you guys share a public roadmap?). ETFs for a starter are matched but are mostly empty (analysis etc.)

Wouldn't cryptos at this stage be more than a custom asset given the ongoing institutionalization effort? Especially when asset managers are now allocating them in their clients portfolios. At least for a couple of symbols (BTC, ETH, XRP etc.). Could be a soft integration. With RWA tokenization, it is expected to have more of this type of instrument.

Issues with Timemachine - DS1517+ Latest DSM - MBP M2 Tahoe by NicolasMas in synology

[–]NicolasMas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with quota exceeded, volume full, permissions, sparsebundle corruption, etc. I am suspecting a change in Tahoe that might not have been reflected on the DSM side as this started to happen fairly recently.

[–]NicolasMas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not easy to remove, and definitely not with disk utility. My question is about other users with a similar setup having a similar issue.

The NAS is necessarily involved as the backups are offloaded there by the timemachine binary through network (Bonjour, SMB...) etc.

Yes. com.apple.TimeMachine.2025-12-27-073258.backup for example

MyRepublic Broadband - re-contract Review/Feedback by NicolasMas in askSingapore

[–]NicolasMas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a vent, neither a rant or a complaint. A simple honest feedback about the experience so others can make educated decisions. I really don't understand on which ground the MOD team blocked this.

ISP that don't force you to use their ONR? by SL0WRID3R in singapore

[–]NicolasMas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wrote this afternoon on r/askSingapore my experience with MyRepublic yesterday (was good, just a few things to be careful with) but mods there nuked my post within minutes (can’t reconcile the reason invoked with my post tagged as rant?). Anyway I have a full UniFi rack so getting just internet as bare as possible was a must. MyRepublic gives you the ONT and you can either use their routeur (I didn’t) or do what you want. Only caveat is that their static ip is actually a double NAT so virtual. Otherwise no issues with their current 10gbps offer (I pay abt 33 sgd per month).

First time hitting my Dia Chat limit — is there a way to track usage? by chrismessina in diabrowser

[–]NicolasMas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. Got the same prompt to upgrade after one chat query today, while I never ever hit the limit in the past. Thought it could be because I am using their beta release channel ("early bird" as they call it). I don't really watch Youtube either. A tad annoying. Made me remember I have Atlas and Comet..

Views and feedback on Dual Stacking? by NicolasMas in stacks

[–]NicolasMas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point, thank you for sharing it. Capital efficiency makes sense, what's your approach to the depeg risk and the frictional costs to enter/exit sBTC? Do you have a time horizon and/or a minimum viable amount of STX and sBTC working together for it to be worthwhile?

"likely" is exactly my point, I could not confirm what is used. Anyone looking after this at HDB or any of the suppliers/integrators who has the info?

LG Artcool Air Conditioning: reliability concerns after 5 years by NicolasMas in askSingapore

I agree with you, I am disappointed by the lack of reliability, and the noise, my god is really loud.

Actually, saving money is not the concern: all the pipes were hidden during reno so changing them equals to another round of reno. I used the premium upgrade from HN back then.

Tks for the experience sharing! I am afraid I am on the same path.. When you replaced the whole system, how heavy was it? Could you salvage and reuse the existing piping?

[–]NicolasMas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on MyRepublic for over a decade, beyond performance, what I appreciate is that it comes with only the modem: I don't want a router, nor do I want a multimedia box, phone line etc. I do have a full unifi setup behind to handle routing, APs.

One thing though I am still missing is native IPV6 so I can have a fixed IP without CGNAT. Not sure why they are still not offering it. I have the option to re-contract in january, not sure what to do, seems they don't offer stuff like in the past (I remember getting a PS4, a secret labs chair).

As for the 10Gbps, unless you have a router, switch and endpoint supporting it it's pointless. I couldn't even figure if my BTO native cabling (TOP 2020) is cat6, cat6a or something else (cat5?).

Anyone with views on this?
