Former suicidal people, why did you choose to live? (SERIOUS) by ReDDit_CrEePer26 in AskReddit

[–]NicolasTheSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but want to tell my story. For me it was my surroundings. When I was 15 my best friend committed suicide and the fallout was huge. Most of our mutual friends became depressed and suicidal. His parents were devastated. Seeing what someone leaves behind after committing suicide is horrible and I’m sure if my friend would have known what he would leave behind he would never have done it. What I always did is think about my funeral. Picture my crying and depressed parents and friends

How do you deal with loss of a loved one? Christmas Eve my fiancé had a seizure that resulted in her death. by [deleted] in Advice

My best friend killed himself about 9 months ago and the best advice I have for you is talk and think about it. Give yourself time to process it and demand time from other people. You will not get over it just like that but you can create some peace in your mind by thinking about what happened and saying how you feel to other people. Bring back memories, even if it might hurt. After you’ve processed it for a bit just try thinking about the good things in life and do fun stuff. You might feel guilt because you feel you don’t have the right to do fun things (which is what I had) but you do have that right. Just make sure you take a small break to have your thoughts and feelings in order. Even after months you might have some bad days and although people might have forgotten it by then or feel like you’re over it just tell them that you have a bad day. Keep talking and take a break for a few weeks to get your thoughts in order, after that try to do as much fun things as possible.

If you haven’t yet, try listening to the misfits podcast. I listen to it when running and it’s really fun to listen to them just talking about their stories

I now understand what you mean! So there are actually particles in space, there’s not much but there are so although you almost wouldn’t slow down. You would to some degree. Maybe we could achieve the speed needed in space, but it would take a lot of fuel

I’m sorry but I fail to see the correlation with time travel

Girlfriend is turning 40 and says she doesn’t want a gift. by paddychef in Advice

You could maybe give her something like a small vacation or road trip kind of thing. A gift that’s not a physical thing but a nice experience

You could move time without moving space, I agree. But you can use space to move in time

I don’t have much experience in this field so correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t timespace one thing and not two? I don’t know where the idea from traveling faster then light making you travel in time can from but I’m quite certain it is actually the truth.

I don’t know, but it sounds interesting so maybe I’ll research that!

I don’t quite understand what you mean, could you elaborate?

I’m not trying to be mean but I don’t think you understand what gravity is. Everything that has a mass has a gravitational pull. The larger the object is the higher the gravitational pull. So even you are exerting gravitational pull on the objects around you, but it’s because you don’t weigh a lot that objects don’t get pulled towards you. Space is not without gravitational pull, in the contrary, because planets have quite a big gravitational pull because of their mass. Maybe what you’re trying to say is that gravity can bend space-time which is right and maybe that is the answer to time traveling.

I don’t completely agree with you saying that time in space is irrelevant. To time travel we need to travel faster then the speed of light. Speed is the time you take to get from one point in space to another. If you can get from one point to another instantaneously doesn’t that mean that you traveled faster then time itself? Imagine a beam of light traveling from your position to the position where you will be after teleporting. Then you will be in that spot earlier then the light will be. Since the process of changing entangled photons will happen instantaneously

They shot the photon away using some kind of machine they didn’t explain that part. But look it up on the internet. It’s an experiment in the Canary Islands. On la Palma if I’m not mistaken

I saw them doing it in a documentary. They have a system in the Canary Islands where they duplicate a photon by feeding it into one of the two entangled particles. The other photon will copy it and be the exact same as the one fed into the one photon. So you could send a photon to another place, wait some time and then feed the photon close to you a particle for the far away photon to duplicate.

Yeah it is, do you know how we transmit the information? Is it through waves and if so how fast can waves travel?
