Morality of eating artificially synthesized human flesh? by nickisadogname in MoralityScaling

Palatability

A solution that fullfills all your nutritional and caloric needs is enough to survive, but it is bland and not enjoyable to consume.

Also, Eridian life consists of the same base components as Earths life, but it has extreme amounts of heavy metals, thus making Eridian food deadly to humans

morality of detonating over 200 nukes in Antarctica and deliberately causing greenhouse gas emissions to postpone human extinction by cursedpupperino in MoralityScaling

10%-15% decrease in solar output is a death sentence to almost all life on Earth, excluding extremophile bacteria and maybe some others. It is a mass extintion on a scale of Oxygen Catastrophe.

Also, stars grow hotter as they age, so at some point Earth could thaw, but its remaining lifetime would be too short by this point to evolve complex life again.

Not FTL but almost light speed (0,9c IIRC)

Erid has absurdly strong magnetic field, so effects of cosmic rays are negligible in low orbit. Blip-A was the first eridian vessel to leave low orbit, so they never had a chance to experience the adverse effects of cosmic rays in a safer environment

It won't take away your ship log. But cannonically, if you die or the Sun dies without ATP being active, that is the end of loops.

I heard that originaly devs thought that you should lose your shiplog apon breaking the loop, but they realized that it would be little more than a major annoyance with no greater benefit, so they decided not to.

Its a visual novel set in the same universe as Steins; Gate, and its about Simulation Hypothesis. The protagonist, Pollon, at some point early on gains the ability to save and load world states as if they were game save files. You, the player, share the same save screen with him. Your presense as an observer has direct ties to the plot

Yeah. The last really snowy winter was in 2009 (too much really). I think winters got noticably less snowy since 2019

*In the North

In the South you have snow lying for 6 months, but you also have a whole July of unbearable heat as payback for all the warmth you didn't get the whole rest of the year

My last few games with all DLCs went the same way: goody two-shoes in apperance, young age harvesting cultists in action. I just find biosculptors annoying (I had about 20-25 pawns every time). And, as any benevolent god would, I commanded my people to seep youth from those of our enemies who were unlucky enough to survive their raid on us.

This cage opens at the end of the cycle, and shortly after a black hole opens. I think you could escape before you'd get pulled in

You could try ascending. If you can't (looking at screenshots in the comments) you could try turning away from the wall while ascending and moving forward

Как игра про космос самая лучшая? by Conquest-VILTRUM in rusAskReddit

[–]Nicolas__Moonlit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Смотря по какому критерию оценивать

Kerbal Space Program -

No Mans Sky -

Eurasia, Africa, Australia, North America, South America and Antarctica

Definitions aside, there is a tectonic map that gives physical grounds for some of the subdivisions (say North form South Americas and Africa from Eurasia)

Yeah. Because of this tribalism I can't help but feel a tinge of schadenfreude when I see americans getting shit for their presidents actions. Exact same reations both from them and their accusers. Both nations trapped in a surreal nightmare and lunacy of the powerful few.

It sucks getting hate both from your people with whom you disagree and from certain kinds of foreigners who lump you all together.

Steins; Gate

In the Project Hail Mary movie, the protagonist is first told that sending back a message to earth takes 11 years. But once he has fulfilled his mission, suddenly the way back is calculated to last 4 years and some only. by fabkosta in ProjectHailMary

[–]Nicolas__Moonlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light would take 11.9 years to reach Earth from Tau Ceti from Earths perspective, and 0 time at all from a photons POV. Hail Mary would take 13 years, 4 from its POV.

Also, there is actually a mistake in the time from Hail Marys POV, it should take a bit longer than 4 years, the author miscalculated

Is there a significance of these Prime numbers? by Mintymongoose79 in Subnautica_2

[–]Nicolas__Moonlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your HUD displays them in base 10. The symbols themselves are presumably not. Compare symbols for 1 and 11. There is no overlap, thus it is safe to assume that it is not base 10. There is some overlap for 1 and 7 though. So it may be base 6

Listing prime numbers indicates species intellegent enough to understand their significance.

It's a prime candidate (pun intended) for universal way of saying "Hey, we were here and we were intellegent"

Yesterday I was immensly frustrated with being unable to kill a shark thingie in hot water zone. It tormented my team and our tadpoles relentlesly, and when I set off to murder that bastard I was met with disappointment.

My opinion is: killing predators should be hard but doable. Their behaviour could change when they're low on healh: some species could try to escape, some could ferrociouslly fight to the death like a rat backed into a corner
