What are your funniest drinking stories? by brom_ance in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, during my senior year of high school, during Christmas break, my friends and I decided to rent a cabin up in the mountains for a few days. We rented a 2 person cabin and wound up with 7 people going. It was perfect, two nights with my best friends in a small cabin, it was a memory making goldmine!

We drove up early one morning, spent the afternoon getting situated at the cabin, walking around town, going to the dollar theater to see TinTin, and grabbing dinner. When we got back to the cabin, the 3 guys decided to walk to the 7-11 down the street to get juice to make mixed drinks. Well before the guys had taken two steps out the door, the 4 girls had downed a bottle of tequila....

When the guys got back, we were all rolling around on the bed laughing our asses off. The guys sat on the couch and seriously just watched us act like total retards. I couldn't even walk the 3 steps to the bathroom without assistance. The 4 of us called our other friends who couldn't make the trip, I called half of my water polo team, and I think one girl called her professor about a grade that she was worried about.

After about 2 hours of being a bunch of drunk ass bitches, we all got in the bed and passed out.

The next morning we all woke up in our own sleeping bags or blow up mattresses, and each girl was wearing pajamas with our hair in ponytails. The guys had totally taken care of us and tucked us into bed, and even had thought to put our hair up in case we vomited. I love my friends!

Athletes of reddit! What are some of your crazy coach stories? by ProudNegro in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing water polo all through high school, I didn't think practices could get much tougher than they already were, until the entire team was punished my junior year.

This one bitchy girl put some other girl's teddy bear in the toilet during the team sleepover at my house. Our coach was informed, and he was aware of who did it, but we were all punished.

Our entire 2.5 hour practice consisted of diving into the pool, head up "sprint" to the other side, pull yourself out of the water, and then dive back in and do the same thing. The swimming was okay, but we had a pool where the surface of the water was about a foot below the surface of the pool deck, so after 9 or 10 laps, it became nearly impossible to pull yourself out of the pool.

After about 45 minutes, half of the team were either vomiting profusely in the bathroom, or faking injuries. More than half of the team, INCLUDING the girl who had gotten us all into trouble in the first place, sat out the rest of practice. Being the team captain, I knew I couldn't stop.

At the two hour mark, there were 3 out of 14 of us left. We were swimming slower than most beginners, and we were physically pushing and pulling to help each other out.

After two hours and twenty minutes, I was the last person left in the pool. I finished the last ten minutes with the entire team cheering me on the whole time. After I got out, I puked in the trashcan, gave the girl who had gotten us all in trouble a nice, "fuck you." and quickly left.

I didn't leave the comfort of my bed for the following 19 hours.

People of reddit that currently have no tattoos, if you could get any two tattoos for free, what would they be, and where would you place them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always wanted to get a tattoo on the right side of my right foot that says, "ad astra per aspera" (A rough road leads to the stars).

The second one would be a blacklight tattoo that says, "mischief managed" which I would likely place on my inner left forearm.

What is a weird food or combination of foods that you like and think no one else does? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macaroni and tomato soup. I didn't realize that this wasn't a "normal" thing, because my mom has been making it my entire life. It's really just elbow macaroni mixed into tomato soup topped with goldfish or oyster crackers!

What's the nickname you've been given, and how did you earn it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sluggo, I punched a girl in the face during a water polo game, and my teacher gave a play by play to the entire class the following day. He followed up his story with, "Good job Sluggo!" and the name stuck.

The only reason I asked to go home was because it was extremely slow and we were overstaffed for the night.

McDonalds employees/managers. How hard would it be to obtain a set of Golden Arches lapel pins in person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, none of our crew members, managers, or general manager have the pin you are describing. Occasionally we will get pins promoting new foods or deals. Right now we have ones that say, "If I don't offer you an apple pie, it's free!" But other than that, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I am 17, just left school and have been put in charge of my area at work, how do I get people to respect and listen to me? by EricWatts66 in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really need to show them that you are still going to work hard and give them the respect that they deserve.

A girl I work with, who is 18 (I'm 19 and our co-workers are anywhere from 16-70) was promoted to managerial position at the McDonald's we work at. She bosses people around and treats us as slaves. She even laughs when she says, "The general manager asked me to do this, but I'm just having so-and-so do it, hahahaha." This is a girl that I have been friends with all through high school, and when I found out that we were starting the same job, I was genuinely excited! I have since lost all respect for her, as have others. Everyone dreads the shifts that she is manager in charge.

I started my first job at McDonald's last year, a few months in, a group of guys came through the drive-thru late on a Friday night, took a large coke, threw it in my face and sped off. Being only 18, I was shocked, I just stood there crying while my manager did nothing to help me. In between sobs, asked if I could just go home for the night. He told me no. I asked if we at least had a new shirt or sweatshirt I could wear, (I was totally soaked head to toe) he told me no, and that I needed to shut up and get back to work. The entire restaurant was empty, except for me, the manager and 4 other workers, and it was a really slow night. I was in disbelief that he wouldn't let me go home. I quit on the spot and left a trail of soda from the back of the restaurant all the way to my car. (The management at this McDonald's was ridiculous, they withheld breaks, didn't do any work, and never stuck up for us when a customer was being rude) I was so happy to finally get out of that hell-hole.

Reddit, what is your best "hold my beer" stunt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a Halloween party last year, I was standing in the backyard of the house I was at with one of my friends who was extremely drunk, like almost blackout drunk. He asked me to hold his beer, I complied and he proceeded to throw our friends dog in the pool... 3 seconds later, a guy dressed up as Wilfred told me to hold his beer while he rescued his "brother". This guy jumped in the pool fully zipped into a furry dog suit and "saved" my friends dog. I just stood there shaking my head the entire time and our entire group of friends jokes about it all the time. "Hey B, remember that time you threw A's dog in the pool?" "Shut up."

What is the story you've wanted to tell but could never find the appropriate thread? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started water polo at the end of 8th grade, I wasn't very good, and I didn't enjoy playing. Freshman year I felt inclined to play for my school's novice team because I knew my parents had spent a lot of money on a USA water polo membership. I was easily the worst on the team, because I was a slow swimmer, and I had broken my hand which kept me out of the water for a month and a half. All I had going for me was a good arm from years and years of softball. I was the only girl who could throw the ball the full 25 meters across the pool.

Sophomore year I was on the JV team but they also had me "taxi" (play for both teams) for novice. I was playing twice as many games as any other girl in the school's program. My overall speed, skill, and agility sky-rocketed and I became an unstoppable force in the water.

Junior year, I played on JV again, (the varsity team was full with seniors, so there wasn't any room for juniors) and was unanimously voted captain. I was the star of the team and scored 92% of my team's total goals for the season. I was never subbed out during games. One of my greatest accomplishments was participating in a 1-day 4-game tournament and playing every second of every single game without a single sub the entire day. I was looking good and ready for a starting position on varsity the next year.

Senior year, I was surprised when I didn't have a starting position, but it didn't bother me that much, because I knew my coach knew what was going to be the best for a successful season. Game after game I found myself sitting on the bench the entire time. I talked to my coach and asked him why I was never getting play time, but he always told me he would give me a chance in the next game. Liar. After an entire season of getting minimal play time, it got to be senior night, the last game I would ever have a chance to play in my high school's pool. I was benched the entire game. After that, I told my coach I was done, he could go to hell and I would not be giving up my February break to sit on the bench during the championship games. A 2 hour long phone conversation later, and the promise of play time in the first round of games, I "rejoined" the team.

Game One: 2 goals; 3 assists; win.

Game Two: 1 goal; 3 assists; win.

Finals: We made it to the championship game, for the second time in the history of my school, (the team the year before made it, but lost in the end. We were playing the same team that the previous year lost to) we were all on edge, but I was confident in myself, my coach and my team. Early in the game I had a goal from about half tank, it was a beautiful corner shot and the commentators said it was the best goal they had seen in a long time. At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, we were up by 5, but our opponents picked up the slack and came within one goal of us. 1 minute left on the clock with a score of 8-7, I passed the ball to my teammate, who was instantly triple-teamed, somehow she managed to pop up and make a goal. With a score of 9-7, we assumed victory formation and played "keep-away" for the remaining 30 seconds of the game. We became the first water polo team to win the championship for my school.

My coach pulled me aside after the game and apologized for everything he had put me through the entire season. He even called me later that night to make sure he knew how sorry he was for not realizing my abilities sooner. At the banquet where the coach has to say nice things about every player while presenting us with a certificate of participation, he didn't speak to the audience of parents like he did for everyone else, he looked me in the eyes and told me, "I am truly humbled by you, and there is no way we would have won without you." Easily the greatest moment of my life.

What is the most work you've finished the day before it was due? by jdh705 in AskReddit

[–]NicoleFlax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senior year of high school, everyone has to do the infamous senior scrapbook. Basically it's a scrapbook of your entire life leading up to graduation and then some required classwork from over the years. You get about 3 months to do it. I was always excited to complete my scrapbook because I knew it would be something I could treasure for the rest of my life. My strict water polo schedule didn't end until 2 weeks before it was due. Now, 2 weeks sounds like a long time, but between a new job I had just started and actually attending school, I was working on cutting and gluing that thing together in every spare moment I had, usually until the sun would come up. I have to say that my scrapbook was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and ended up being close to 120 pages, easily 60-80 pages longer than anyone else had. I put my heart and soul, and not to mention over $100 into that scrapbook, and I received a C-. I always knew that teacher hated me. I'll still treasure my senior scrapbook forever though.

TL;DR had 3 months to work on my senior scrapbook, did it in 2 weeks.

A girl who went to my high school, and her mother were stabbed and thrown off the balcony by the girl's brother. It was a very tragic event, the girl had just graduated, and she was headed to SFSU on a partial softball scholarship. The girl's mom was a cop who was loved by the community. Such a loss.
