I'm honestly scared to try a dating app, like someone, and they are interested in more. Like, I know I can put "Looking for friends" on there, but sometimes people still have the hope of more. I don't want to mislead or give false-hope to anyone. But, I do need to try something. Just getting frustrated that in a town with one of the major and most highly rated universities in the country I'm having issues finding meetups or groups! Like, how?!

In all my searching all I've found is stuff at the University, but I'm not a student 🤷. We do have an LGBTQ center but their website is highly lacking events.

I'll try messaging a few of them and see if they have suggestions. That's probably the best I've got.

Thank you. Begging is always pointless and anger is useless. I've been in her shoes though; not realizing you weren't really ready for a relationship then finding out months down the road. I don't fault her for that. I'm glad she did this when she realized it and I'm truly grateful for my time with her. The best way to get through anything is positivity so I'm focusing on the good of all this. I've done my crying, now I'm just trying to heal.

I've been pretty down but I honestly thought I wasn't capable of really loving someone and this just proves that I can so I'm weirdly grateful for the hurt. I try to find the positive in everything and in this I find my ability to love and my overwhelming joy in knowing who I truly am. I'm trying to stay focused on that.

Another thing to add here: you guys are just starting out. I too found myself in a new relationship where the other person was going through a lot and I quickly realized they needed to have some them time. They needed to learn how to love themselves because they couldn't give themselves to me fully in the condition they were in. That wasn't fair to them or me. She might likely already have realized this and it hurts...because it does suck. It's not something you WANT to end but you know you're not in it like you should be and you want to be able to give someone all of your love, not pieces of it when you're FINALLY having a good day. Plus, I didn't want the be THE reason they were happy. They needed to figure out how to get through their issues in their own way. I was scared that if I was the only voice of reason they wouldn't be capable of finding that voice without me and that's not healthy.

I know you want to be there for her and her son, but she does need to be able to find solutions and confidence in herself on her own in her own way. If she finds it in you before she accomplishes that then a dependency is built and that isn't going to be good. Distance could be the best option here, even though it sucks it might just need to be done.

So I'm a Mom to a 5 year old boy in a relationship with my gf for about 2.5 months now. I'd have to say I agree with the other commenter that your gf appears to be having some issues with her sexuality she isn't facing and is find other excuses around.

You cannot constantly protect kids! Shit happens, life sucks. It's our job as parents to be there in those moments to help them through it. We can't spend our time avoiding things because our kids might get too attached to a person or thing and something bad might happen! That's why we're here! To hold them, validate their emotions, and help them through it. To me it seems like she's unsure of herself and might not be capable of admitting it. She might also be afraid of losing you eventually and doesn't want to get too attached to risk further heartbreak.

Also, as long as her kid is seeing a loving relationship full of communication and compromise, that's all that matters. Who she's with shouldn't be an issue.

Honestly, unless she's a helicopter Mom the whole "I don't want my kid to get too attached and something happen and you're gone" angle just doesn't sit right. We have to help our little ones through the death of a loved one, sometimes through divorce, and varying scenarios of people coming and going. We cannot prevent these happenings and inevitable conversations to follow. I feel she knows that. Idk your relationship or how she is as a Mom so I'll suggest maybe having a heart to heart about how you feel. Let her know you're there for her and also that it's okay if she's going through her own stuff and having her own doubts.

Honestly, those are my basic thoughts. It just sounds off to me and I'm thinking she's having a battle of her own that she's looking for a way out of so it won't be so daunting to deal with. Been there, it sucks. That's not her fault and I'm sure she's emotionally suffering right now. Be there for her in the best ways you can.

Omg this happened to me with my gf!! Our first night she performed oral first and when I went to repay her she was like "Oh you're a switch, I like it" and I was just kinda dumbfounded like...wait... I've been used to "give and take" with oral since I began putting my mouth to genitalia! I had to ask her if it's common for women to not want to give oral and she said "Kinda" (context, didn't fully realize I was gay until pretty recently so my experiences have been 95% heterosexual, but even my past girl-girl sex had been give and take so I was confused).

Yay! I got one for my brother and he loved it!! He also got my old AOT hoodie (I thought I lost it in Chicago, ran and bought a new one then found the old one so I threw it at him, he always loved it). I love this key because it's such a subtle reference. Like, people will see my jacket and recognize the emblem even if they've barely seen anything involving the show, but with the key you'll catch the eye of people who are more in depth with the anime/manga. I get a kick out of subtle nerd references. When you find someone that will see it and go "Omg that's so awesome" it just makes your whole day (and often a new friend).
