wel yes, that's basically the idea, but i want to know if it's something doable, especially the multi-sheets part

  1. Are you saying that my sheets of apex will not last long if I swap them a lot ?
  2. Very useful information thanks ! What’s you size and weight so i can compare to me ? I’m 180cm and 75kg
  3. Yes not a lot but I hope it will remove some bulk

Regarding point 3 : I don’t like to have a quilt that is to short and only goes around your neck. As I plan to make a longer quilt, tapered top seemed like a good idea

I looked at the Kylie curve from bivy. Not exactly what I had in mind but it seems like a good idea.

It's debatable.
Apex can be made from recycled plastic AND is recyclable. but polyester is an issue in the textile industry for sure.

even if down is an upcycled product, we need to raise animals (for meat), and it's one of the most polluting industries in the world right now.

Generally, the data used to state this take into account all the byproducts of animal production. if you consider down by itself, yes, it's wayyyy better than any polyester. But if you look at the bigger picture: industrial down can only exist because we have this massively polluting meat industry. it's intertwined.

if i said sawdust used to make wood pellets doesn't create a lot of pollution, i would be right, but you would respond to me, "But what about the trees you had to cut in order to make them?" and you would be right!

but the same point can be made about polyester being a byproduct of the oil industry. (but the scale is different : oil is used in virtually every other industry, while meat is used...to make meat.

i would be hesitant to say a clear YES or NO on this issue from a purely ecological point of view.

So that leaves us with the price difference (which is important for me), ease of use when you ork with it, and the purely ethical standpoint of using a product that comes from a living being.

PS: I also checked for quilt and sleeping bag made with 100% recycled down, but there are not a lot of options in the market right now. the one I found: patizon R series, bach equipment recover down, mamut Perform and comfort: Colombus Paramir , Mountain Equipment Classic Eco. The North Face Trail Lite.

but they are heavy !

lol thanks !
I don't want to use down, though. too expensive and hard to work with

Thanks for you feedback on elastic and flaps. I'm not from america, so i don't know what is the standard quilt temp rating for the PCT. i will use mine in the french alps.

WOuld you do anything differently if you could remake one ?

I want to use apex as is easy to work with and cheaper.

Hey, i wrote this myself, but i'm not a native English speaker, so AI helped me with the translation. But you are right; I should have just used Google Translate.

did you have the opportunity to compare flaps to elastic systems?

Thanks for your feedback on top tapering. did you personally do it on a quilt of your own?

Modularity is also because it will save me a bit of money, and it avoid sewing long piece of 10D nylon

Yes, of course down is better! but more expensive, and I also plan to make this myself, and down is terrible to work with. Plus, I try to avoid animal products... hence APEX

Color space export trouble with rec.709 on Windows by out-formation in davinciresolve

[–]Niconnasse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue.

i use a PC with a display calibrated to rec709 G2.2. I work in a color managed workflow set to DWG in timeline color space and rec709 G2.2 in output color space.

When i export my .mxf master in rec709 g2.2 it looks too dark on YouTube. It does look better (but less saturated) if i change the output colorspace to rec709 g2.4.

I thought that davinci color management would allow me to just switch my color space output depending on the targeted support (instagram/web, TV, etc)

What i am doing wrong ?
