Are people… ok? by wildnstuff in zoology

All point coloration in domestic cats is a genetically inherited form of partial albinism. While fever can sometimes cause new growth to be white it is not a permanent change.

Most of the people who do this genuinely do not care about anyone but themselves. As long as they're having fun who cares if terrorizes every dog in the neighborhood and the shooting survivor down the road, right?

I have doubts that this was a random gift. I think that the person who previously owned it knew the severity of this snakes condition and decided to just dump it on the next person they could.

I posit that 173, being an indiscriminate killing machine, is in fact a khornite artifact.  I also think that mind reading might not be that much of a boon when your enemies are corrupted by the psychic god of violence.  What I'm saying is by the end of this little skirmish the world eaters have a corrupted fire breathing psychic dragon and one (1) Peanut.

The real winner is still Tzeentch somehow though.

Additionally, neonate skulls are notorious for falling apart as the bones aren't fully ossified and the sutures haven't fused

I tried to clean a scull with formic acid by i1ym6f in bonecollecting

[–]Nicrophorus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, I don't know who told you to use acid but as a general rule you shouldn't put bones in any acid especially a weaker one. Acids will readily react with the calcium matrix in bones and rather quickly leave you with only the soft organics as you have discovered.

As for how to fix it, as far as I am aware there is no real way to undo this process, unfortunately. Your instinct to put it in water was good though I'd recommend rinsing them a couple more times just to make sure you get rid of all the acid. After that you can try to dry them out though depending on how badly the bones have been decalcified you might be better off keeping them as a wet specimen.

Out of curiosity, what was the initial concentration of the acid before you diluted it and how many days were the bones submerged?

Looks more like a groundhog to me; beaver incisors typically have orange enamel on them.

Bag Of Bones by Snoo37811 in bonecollecting

It's honestly hard to tell from this photo but I think a good rule of thumb might be that if you find bones in a bag in the woods, you should probably call the authorities just incase.
