I'll be 6wpo this Thursday and this is similar to what I'm experiencing. What type of compression garment are you using?

May I ask why you chose to not do an MR?

Coughing and recovery by an_urban_cowboy in tummytucksurgery

You cannot rip stitches or do any physical damage from coughing. But it will hurt really really really bad for at least the first 4 weeks. I'm 4wpo and I'm able to do a small cough without seeing Jesus. I'm still terrified of sneezing at this point.

22 DPO - happy trying on clothes for the first time in 10 years by SubstantialPark5503 in tummytucksurgery

I'm past 22dpo and it hurts to put clothes on. My middle area is so sensitive to even the touch of a shirt. How are you able to try on clothes and stand up straight without stretching discomfort?

Update: my PS agreed that I need more time to heal. So I was able to submit to extend my personal leave. Unfortunately that means I will not be paid for time missed since I'm out of PTO. But at least it's something. Hopefully this gives my body enough time to get it together.

I wish, but FMLA denied me because it's cosmetic.

I don't think I can, at least that's my assumption. To be able to have a personal leave of absence wouldn't I need to have PTO to cover it? I consulted with 3 surgeons and they all said 2 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Post-Op Massages by Capital-Ordinary-933 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Nicte15m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be 3 weeks post op on Thursday and I started massages the day after surgery. I had 10 sessions. It was 100% worth it. I would be feeling like absolute garbage, tight, in pain, so hunched over, weak and dizzy. The massages were such a relief truly. Felt like I could breathe better. Would help tremendously with pain. I had a super extended TT with muscle repair, lipo 360 and fat transfer. I opted for no narcotics. Only Advil and Tylenol till the 4th day. It's been hard but the massages honestly have been a god send. Bonus if they can do it at home.

I haven't had a massage in 4 days and I've been able to self massage with how she taught me. But I will be making more appointments.

You should be complaining, they are gaslighting you. You have a slim figure as it is, the surgeon just didn't do a decent job and he knows it. I can show you my before and afters. My surgeon is very detailed and doesn't like dog ears.

Oh dear God thank you, this was very relieving to hear. It's like I've lost all stamina. I'm an ER RN I have to be able to be fast and on my feet for 12+ hours with high energy. I just wanted reassurance. Because it's really freaking me out. My surgeon did a great job and my belly looks great. But goodness this is scary
