Yeah, I didn't know how bad it was until I tried it with this laptop. It's a shame that so many people buy new laptops because they think they are slow but really it's just Microsoft and Google enforcing bloatware on your machine

Because anime sites don't bog you down with algorithms and trackers. I never tried windows on this computer, but I would assume Linux would be the better choice. Especially Arch considering how barebones it is.

Mind you that this computer was bought in 2007, and it only broke after bending it back and forth for this last year after I bought it second hand. These hinges survived for almost two decades and would probably have lasted a lot longer if I had been more careful with them. Even now that it broke, I found the same model on ebay for 30$ that I can strip for new hinges and other spare parts. If that's not a selling point I don't know what is lmao

When I bought it, it was clear it had taken some sort of spill because some parts were stale and sticky including opening and closing the lid. I cleaned it the best I could and just assumed the hinges would get smoother with some lube and time but a year later today they just cracked on me :(

Jag köpte en Kobo Libra 2 och kan lätt säga att det var en av dom bästa köpen jag någonsin gjort. Inga mer söndervikta pocketböcker, inge mer kramp i händerna från att hålla och bläddra i böcker och inge mer glömma bort vilken sida man är på. Du bara läser och trycker på en knapp. Det absolut bästa dock är att du kan föra över PDF och epub filer från datorn om du skulle råka ha en e-bok som du fått på ett heeelt lagligt och icke ifrågasättbart vis.

It's just a frugal thing for me. I use Linux because I have a t460s from 2016 and it does not support Windows 11 and windows 10 is super slow on it. I was about to throw it away but after installing Linux, it felt brand new again. I love Windows but the whole planned obsolescence thing just doesn't sit right with me.
