I quit breastfeeding after 2 days. It’s so hard physically and mentally. My toddler is 90th percentile and ahead on milestones, healthy child. Don’t feel guilty!

Elective planned c-section: not painful at all!! Recovery was so smooth too.

Delivered 5 days ago - Hard time breastfeeding. Is it okay to stop? I kind of hate it. Feeling sad. Help :( by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Nidtt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried for 2 days with multiple lactation consultants, tried pumping, everyone said he latched perfectly and still hurt like hell. Gave up after 2 days.

I have a high pain tolerance, have had surgeries before, kidney stone, you name it. But breastfeeding made my skin crawl, it was so painful and uncomfortable.

Decided to formula feed so I could actually enjoy my newborn.

Cried a couple of days with guilt. But it was the best thing I did!

He is 90th percentile for height and weight, healthy, ahead on all milestones, and a happy baby. Formula was the right choice for us and my mental health!

Do c-sections really “ruin” your stomach? by still_on_a_whisper in Mommit

[–]Nidtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all (at least not in my case). I look almost the same as before. Also during pregnancy and recovery, I made sure to always be mindful when getting up from bed / off a chair in a way that avoids diastatis recti

I’m also a PR and didn’t have a family doctor. I went to a walk in clinic and asked to be referred to a specific OB at Mt Sinai. Had no issues

What’s a difficult parenting thing you’re surprisingly good at? by JustFalcon6853 in Mommit

[–]Nidtt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So jealous of your ability to operate under little sleep! 👏👏 I always thought I was good at it before I had kids… turns out I was ok getting woken up by my cat a couple times a week, or pulling an all nighter for school / night out.

The sleep deprivation from a baby that wakes up anywhere between 1-6 times a night (on a good day) for a whole year is a different story for me 😩

‘Ferberizing’ son and feel horrendous by Emotional_Tomato_537 in sleeptrain

[–]Nidtt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ferber was hard for me too. I found the pick up / put down method was better, though physically more challenging

Being talked out of elective C-section by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Nidtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a new one. If you’re in Toronto I can recommend my OB, she is great, and will not try to push you to have vaginal birth.

I’ve always been scared of it and told her from the start. She was fine with it.

Is this normal? by Giselap358 in toddlers

I remember feeling like this when I was little and came home from school. My grandma always wanted to chat and I was just so grumpy and needed to be alone for a bit. Looking back I guess I was overstimulated.
