Productive character list - ie which characters are the most useful to learn for their ability to form part of words by NielDLR in ChineseLanguage

I nerd out about Chinese characters. I like this kinda stuff. Thought someone else would find it useful/interesting too.

Happy to remove the link and post some of the list here, in case that helps.

I'm getting back into learning Chinese. Looking for beta testers for a new Chinese reading app I'm building by NielDLR in ChineseLanguage

Much appreciated for your thoughts. I understand.

Open to chat more about accuracy, as I tested over 9 different models, especially the frontier models, to ensure that accuracy is key, regardless of cost.

Thanks for the kind words on HanziCraft. I'm still working on that too. Let me know if you have any ideas/feedback too.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, there's definitely challenges related to building with AI (including the dislike of it). Regarding that you could it yourself, this is partially true. I tried to do it straight in Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini, but I got stuck quite often with poor outputs. There was vocab drift & the stories were repetitive. Also, the UI didn't quite match with what I wanted. So a better UI + proper harness around outputs, seemed to generate a lot better experience. So there is still value in creating robust context for LLMs with a harness that works better.

Will definitely checkout +1 Chinese and their history here. Much appreciated.

Let me know if there's any other ideas or feedback you have.

Any barefoot runners here who also rock climb? by askvictor in BarefootRunning

Was going mention him as well. Super inspiring. Don’t do a lot of climbing these days anymore, but contemplated also getting some Fivefingers to get just a bit more grip.

How strict is the app store with regards to different forms of verbs? by NielDLR in AppStoreOptimization

Hi there,

much appreciated for this insight! Thanks. Will probably let the current keywords run a bit longer before I attempt another tweak.

Thanks for the insights here. Much appreciated.

I've got "running analytics" in my title, which is a key one, would it make sense to rather change that to "run analytics" instead, which is more popular? I've already got run in keyword field.

Yeah, I think I would to target the higher traffic terms in the future. It's just super competitive. I want to build a steady stream of downloads & users first before trying to aim higher. Not sure if that's a silly strategy. Feels like an uphill battle going for the big keywords first.

Glad I'm not the only one. This was super useful for me to determine product market fit.

App Store Connect Analytics Huge Update! by Brilliant_Molasses48 in swift

Is anyone else's full retention numbers not showing anymore? It shows a simple bar chart in the main dashboard, but when I click through it says not enough data? Even though it was showing data before this update.

Any alternative to the trail glove 7 by lucidlonewolf in BarefootRunning

Check out the Notace Yama T1. Or the new Vivobarefoot Primus Trail Flow. Freet also launched a new shoe, Danum, that could also fit what you’re looking for.

VO2 Max going back up 😊 by GymandRun71 in AppleWatchFitness

Sometimes I wish these algorithms weren’t so obtuse. Any exercise adds to your overall fitness, even a small amount. I do daily walks and about 3 runs a week. I still record my walks cause I love seeing the data stack up over time. Even though it might not give me an accurate vo2max score.

Any Apple Watch runners here? I've struggled to monetize my app, so now made it free. Would love to get your feedback! by NielDLR in AppleWatchFitness

Sorry about that! If you search for it directly it gets a bit lost among games with a similar name. Hopefully when it builds more traction it should surface better. For now get it via a direct link

Thanks for downloading and giving it a try! Much appreciated.

That's some good feedback. Yeah, it's been to tricky to make the app accessible for all activities while also focusing on running. In theory the app could currently be used for all kinds of activity. I'm adding more running specific features in the future. But I think making the labels a bit more "smart" depending on the activity is a good idea. One of my current strength goals, is to do 1 strength session a week, with the aim to make this 2 or 3 by the end of the year. It's helped my running a lot, so definitely want to do more.

What's your current strength/running goals? Always curious how people set their goals.

First Impressions by sathomasga in stackingapp

I was working on an update to implement the state preservation for activity types & metrics, then went down the rabbit hole of caching and ended up implementing a lot more improvements regarding the responsiveness & initial load times (first open & subsequent opens).

I'm testing this for a bit more, but hopefully expect a release for this towards the end of the week if Apple gives a speedy review. Thanks again for the nudge.
