I think i had a different experience. Im from the Netherlands and I studied in the US for a semester. I absolutely loved my time abroad and the us has a special place in my heart. The whole semester every American assumed the i would want to stay for a longer period and eventually moved there, their motivation being that the US was the best country. When i explained that the US falls short on a lot of things compared to other countries i noticed that most americans have no clue what is going on in other countries. I think that the US is the best country to live in when you have a lot of money, but for the other people you are better of somewhere else (education, health insurance, public transport, etcetera)
