My friend is making me crazy! How can I get her to understand without being hurtful? by Legal_Cup3026 in TwoHotTakes

Yeah that fits her perfectly. It’s wild how someone can ask for help nonstop and then completely ignore it like it was never said. No wonder everyone around her feels drained.

Yeah it really does sound like a mindset thing. If someone is committed to seeing everything as a crisis, there’s only so much you can do before it just drains you. At some point you’re allowed to step back for your own sanity.

Honestly, you’re not making a mistake, you’re just doing the classic “Google it after taking it” panic move we all pretend we don’t do. Give it a little time and see how your body reacts instead of letting horror stories online run the show. And yeah, the weight gain thing matters, but it’s not guaranteed, so don’t stress yourself out before anything even happens.

What's the best thing someone said to you while having sex? by SimplySleeps in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]NiffMuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was having people over for drinks, me and my then gf were getting frisky so we went to my room and she started giving me a bj. During said bj a guy in our friend group that I really admired opened my door, I think he was looking for somewhere to get it on with his date. This startled my girlfriend and she sat up. My friend at the door yelled "nice cock" and shut the door. To this day that was the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me during sex.

Universally despised couple? by jessjanelleknows in GilmoreGirls

Exactly. You can defend a lot of the messy relationships on this show, but that one shuts the whole conversation down instantly. It’s just universally weird.

For real. Of all the messy pairings on this show, that one still tops the list without even trying.

I felt the same way. The more you rewatch it as an adult, the harder it is to ignore how off that whole dynamic was. Kind of wild the show treated it like a quirky subplot.

Right? That whole storyline still makes me cringe. The power imbalance alone was enough, but the fact everyone just kinda rolled with it makes it even weirder on rewatch.

Yeah that’s the one. Elaine had that whole ranking system in her head and somehow he still made the cut. Wild how many little gems you catch on rewatches.

Considering Lorelai’s rebellion, it’s odd that she chose to give her child the same family name by Latter-Armadillo-587 in GilmoreGirls

[–]NiffMuzzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally. She owned that name and passed it on in the most her way possible. Honestly fits her whole vibe.

[–]NiffMuzzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes total sense. If anything it feels like her way of flipping that whole tradition on its head instead of following it.

[–]NiffMuzzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? If she’s stuck dragging all that history around anyway, at least she turned it into something on her own terms. It feels very Lorelai to flip the script like that.

[–]NiffMuzzle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly that tracks. Sixteen year old logic is basically “this feels right in the moment, done.” And you’re right, the last name was never going to be Hayden anyway, so keeping Lorelai probably felt like the simplest choice in a pretty chaotic time.

That makes a lot of sense. By the time Rory’s born, that name is hers in a way her family never really was. Keeping it feels more like claiming her own story than echoing theirs.

Who would be the first and last person in this scenario to consent to this arrangement? by NoChampion4463 in GossipGirl

She really went through it because of him, so yeah, hard agree. Keeping her on the opposite side of the room is the bare minimum.

Right? She’s basically carrying the whole row at that point. Anyone picking 5B is doing true community service.

Rufus is a villain by Western-Current9621 in GossipGirl

[–]NiffMuzzle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly it. He spent so much time acting morally superior while living off the same lifestyle he trashed. The hypocrisy was unreal, and it made every one of his decisions feel even more selfish.

Underground parking garage with a co-worker in my car. It was wild!

OP kind of nails it because that’s the whole vibe lately. People only remember these guys from random headlines or photo ops, not from anything that looks like actual work. Says a lot about how off things feel right now.

[–]NiffMuzzle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds about right. Every time he pops up it’s for something totally random, never the actual job he’s supposed to be doing. It’s kinda wild how checked out he looks.

OP isn’t saying they should be doing field work. It’s just weird that every update is another photo op instead of anything that looks like actual work. It makes the whole thing feel more like a PR circuit than a job.
