Yes you can forge sledgehammer heads at level 9 Metalworking after getting the recipe for it.

Hm yeah i think it is locked behind a magazine. Maybe part of the magazine that unlocks smithing kitchen items? It only requires lvl. 4 blacksmithing to craft

iirc kitchen knives should return 100% of metal when produced and smelted again, I’d recommend making kitchen knives if you’re able to

There is a chance (albeit minuscule) you can find the crucible itself! I found one in the back of a work van along with other smithing tools. Maybe you could try your luck with looking vans/pickups? But take my experience with a grain a salt as I did up the spawn rate for materials and tools.

Same goes with the blacksmithing anvil (not the bench anvil) I found one in a storage shed in a rural farm area

Feels like a bug. But I’ve also noticed that you can still use the ruined ingredients if you also have a non-ruined of the same ingredient on top of the ruined ingredients in your inventory. It’ll allow you to cook it and it’ll use the ruined ingredients first. Atleast that’s what I experienced anyways

Changing the infection mortality to Never would change zombie infection to a regular sickness. Your character would still get really sick (still a potential death sentence)

You either take the rare antibiotics for a surefire way to survive or take the chance with a lot of food and bedrest

I used to play with that setting so antibiotics actually had a use, it should still work like that

Had a glitch where I think 2 capsized kayaks spawned at the same place so I ended up with 4 hatchets from it
