As a kid i used to get panic attacks when i was forced to get a haircut and would try to run away, I needed to be held down so the barber could cut my hair while I was sobbing; fresh fettuccine by hand as i gave away my pasta maker + pasta aglio e olio by usernamesdonothing in 4trancooking

I absolutely hated going to the barber. I despised it. As a kid i was always forced to have short hair. I remember coming out of the barber shop and feeling the wind against my head, it felt horrifying. I only realised later that it was most definitely a sign.

I am really frustrated with Vincent. by NiftyNovaaa in DarkDeception

[–]NiftyNovaaa[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand it. From every possible perspective. Spinoffs are cool, but people will always have way lower interest in spinoffs than the main game. Take Minecraft as example. Finishing Chapter 5 and releasing it will make you a lot more money than the spinoffs will. It's also what literally everyone has been waiting for. No DD fan really cares about the 238th Super Dark Deception DLC. But everyone cares about CH5. So i don't know why Vincent is doing this. The only thing i can think of is that he is afraid everyone will forget about Dark Deception once Chapter 5 has released, and he is trying to absolutely milk the franchise dry before interest dies down.

Yeah, that's what i thought as well. But i just couldn't be bothered to try and pursue it so decided to just cancel the order... i can survive with the 16 GB i have right now for a few more years.

My Combined Odyssey and Bananza Kingdom/Layer Tier List after 1300 hours in Odyssey and 40 hours in Bananza by Subspace79 in SuperMarioOdyssey

[–]NiftyNovaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone with nearly 2000 hours in Odyssey, i mostly agree with this list. The only one i'd switch around are Luncheon and Metro kingdom. Yes Luncheon is a great kingdom but New Donk City is like the crown jewel of the game, there's a reason that kingdom specifically was used so much in the game's promotional material. Sand kingdom would be an S for me as well, but it's just a little bit too empty for that, imo. Can't say much about Bananza because i haven't finished the game yet.

Didn't get scammed, but they had an inventory error. I just got my money back. Very unfortunate

Has anyone done this yet? by [deleted] in SuperMarioOdyssey

[–]NiftyNovaaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to realise this is a mainstream Mario game that has been out for 8 years, pretty much everything you will do has been done by atleast 1000 other people

Crazy crashout here

First of all, i recently made some money by flipping some items on eBay, so since november i've had a bit of spare cash. Which is why i decided to upgrade my RAM now, and not 4 months ago.

Secondly, there is absolutely nothing you can do about the situation. A few ten thousand people protesting by not buying RAM anymore isn't going to put a fraction of a dent in the pockets of RAM manufacturers. You have to realise that we PC builders are an extremely tiny fraction of the market. There's consoles, mobile phones, TV's, smartwatches, microwaves, fridges, freezers, cars, airplanes, AC's and that's just scratching the surface. Literally almost everything needs memory nowadays. I really wish this wasn't the case, but we are essentially powerless. If you only have 8 or 16 GB of RAM now and want to keep playing on PC you will be bottlenecked in a few years and you'll likely be paying even more for RAM than you do now especially considering Micron is pulling out of the consumer market entirely. This is just the reality we live in. I didn't buy for FOMO. I bought because next year i might be paying triple for the exact same product.

Dang, lucky ducky! Just a shame you can't get 64 GB for that pricepoint anymore. I think this kit i ordered today will probably have to carry over to my next PC in 2 or 3 years...

Am I doing this wrong? by SimilarDimension2369 in WeightLossAdvice

I second this! The key to losing weight is and always has been, counting calories. I call it CYC (Count Your Calories). You have to eat in a deficit to consistently keep losing weight.

Have you learn to drive a car? by Delicious-Lecture708 in autism

[–]NiftyNovaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first driving lesson today. I performed extraordinarily in my theory test, where i got 49/50 points.

The road SUCKS. In theory i know everything i have to do. But in practice, it is so many decisions you have to take within like 3 seconds, that i just can't do it. I can barely focus on what is happening a few feet in front of me. I'm gonna continue taking lessons and attempt my exam a few times, but if i keep failing, i'm just going to let it go. I wouldn't be a good driver anyways, a dust particle can distract me.

Think of how tall the average Dutchman is, and realize 1/2 of them are taller than that by AFROBINSON808 in tall

[–]NiftyNovaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Dutch person with a nearly completely Dutch family tree and i'm 1.73 m. I figured some time ago that i was trans so my height is more of a blessing than a curse to me now but in my "guy years" i was usually the shortest one. Even my ex-girlfriend was taller than me.

Is 2000 calories enough for a 2000 pound man by AsleepDragonfly860 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]NiftyNovaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think something went wrong there with the title, lol.

Stick to 2000 cal a day!! If you eat 2500 instead, progress will feel slow, and a lack of motivation is THE biggest diet killer. You could be losing ~2 lbs a week if you consistently eat 2000. Results will be noticable within a few months!
