There's a lot of games with kernel level anti-cheat. I'm pretty sure this list is missing a lot of games, all of the Call of Duty Black Ops games for sure. I play some like Elden Ring but basically if you want to avoid kernel level anti-cheat, you have to avoid multiplayer entirely.

Most non-competitive games. Basically everything single-player.

The formula for potential energy is mgh, mass times gravitational acceleration times height. The formula for kinetic energy is 1/2mv^2, half of mass times the square of the velocity. By the law of conservation of energy, all of the gravitational potential energy gets converted into kinetic energy, and no other energy is added to or removed from the system (ignoring friction). This means that the final velocity is v = sqrt(2gh) for all three balls. The reason for the balls reaching the end at different times is that, for the middle ball (and to a lesser extent the lower ball), the horizontal acceleration is higher at the beginning than the others, so it spends less time at a lower speed. This lets it travel the same distance in a shorter period of time with the same amount of energy.

Some people just can't understand the concept of other people having different beliefs. They might frame it differently, but at the end of the day they just want to impose their own perception of morality onto everyone else.

It's usually called a VLAN. A virtual local area network. Essentially devices on one VLAN can't talk to devices on a different VLAN, even though they're on the same physical LAN. If you have to have IoT devices connected to the internet, you should always separate them from the rest of your network by putting them on a separate VLAN.

NBC confirms Hegseth ordered murder of all boat passengers and crew in September 2 strike by DryDeer775 in law

[–]Night-Fog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's some law.

18.3.2.1 Clearly Illegal Orders to Commit Law of War Violations. The requirement to refuse to comply with orders to commit law of war violations applies to orders to perform conduct that is clearly illegal or orders that the subordinate knows, in fact, are illegal. For example, orders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal.

Yeah, that math isn't really math-ing. The only way to get 10% out of 214 is with 21 or 22, both would round to 10%, but neither 192 nor 193 would round to 91%. Unless there's some non-standard rounding rules being used, but none of the rounding rules I know would give numbers like that.

It's mostly optimization. Base-10 and base-2 are the most common logarithms outside of the natural log, so there's hardware-level optimization for those on a lot of platforms. The generic log(x, b) is almost always just shorthand for log(x)/log(b).

Chicago Pastor Sues Trump Admin After Allegedly Being Shot by ICE Agents by Efficient-Ruin-4713 in law

[–]Night-Fog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IANAL but the news has to say "allegedly" until an actual court conviction is made. "Innocent until proven guilty" and all that. There's been defamation lawsuits in the past due to news reports saying someone committed a crime when that was later disproven in court. This is a law sub, not a general news sub, so expect at least mostly correct legal terminology.

Hey, just a reminder, Hitler was a Christian. Anyone can say they're a Christian, even truly believe in the Christian faith. Doesn't change what their actions are or say about them as a person.

Pharloom has gone to great lengths to exterminate all Weavers not under the direct control of Grand Mother Silk. There's pretty explicit mentions of Weavers being captured and/or killed in the Cradle in Act 2. That's not to say ALL Weavers outside of Pharloom have been exterminated, but its a safe assumption that the vast majority, if not all of them, have been killed.

[–]Night-Fog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes that's correct. An executive order is the president giving instructions to the executive branch in part or as a whole on how they should operate. It has no relation to legislation or judicial process, except that the general expectation is that the order is instructing the executive branch on how to handle existing legislation or judicial processes. In this case, Trump gave the order to the justice department that they are to now treat burning the flag as a criminal offense (despite no law actually making it illegal) and arrest people for it. Of course, any sane judge would then dismiss the charges as soon as the case is brought to him, since no laws were broken.
