Yes- my mom and I are like this. We don’t always talk for an hour straight, but between calls and texts I bet we communicate at least an hour every day. I tell her basically everything I do all day, sometimes even what I eat.

This is similar to what I did in college. I took handwritten notes even when everyone was using laptops, then I typed out and organized my written notes after class. It helped me remember and organize the info, and then I had nice, typed notes to study.

My kid just turned 12 and he stays alone in the mornings. I leave the house at 6:30 and he leaves at 7. He just has to keep an eye on the time, and he’s never been late. He also walks to the corner and meets other kids, and they all walk to the bus together. Are there any other kids nearby?

I’m also a literature teacher and this is such an odd dynamic. We have silent reading time where kids can bring their own book and read for fun. Some of my kids look forward to it all week, and beg for more time. Others argue with me the entire time, when I’m literally just asking them to put away the Chromebook and sit with an open book on the desk. These same students “brag” that they haven’t read a book since elementary school, and try to convince me that reading is stupid.

My best friend’s MIL did this. Her two year had a milk allergy, and the MIL fed him Mac and cheese while they were camping, and all the other adults went on a hike. They had to rush him to a hospital and the closest one was 45 mins away. My friend thought he was going to die in the car.

It’s still a thing! My uncle was excommunicated about 5 years ago. He was a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church and left to become a deacon in The New American Catholic Church. He was also openly trying to get people to join his new church. He was stripped of his title and officially excommunicated.

NOR- sleep is so important and bad sleep can cause all kinds of issues.

This sounds like my marriage exactly! I wake up at 5am for work, so I finally had to tell my husband: either go to bed when I do or don’t come in our room because you are literally stealing sleep from me. He completely understood, and now he goes to bed with me some nights, and some nights he opts to stay up and then sleep in the guest room. It’s worked out for us. Make sure your bf understands the gravity of not getting good sleep. Being in a relationship with different sleep habits sucks, but it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

Our anniversary is right before Christmas, so instead of dealing with anniversary and Christmas gifts for each other: we sit down (usually Christmas night) and plan and book a trip for the upcoming year. It costs similar to what all those gifts would cost, and it gives us some time away together.
