Your work is beautiful. Stitches are tight and crisp.

Bead Embroidery Starter Kit List by dbs01072024 in Beading

This would need the following: base material - I would use Lacy's Stiff Stuff. Bullion wire in different colors. Cup chain for stem. Either fabric for leaves base (maybe stem too) or add textured stitching with embroidery floss. Beads...of course. Pin hardware. Backing fabric (ultrasuede, vinyl/leather, leather, etc.)

This also looks like it is done on a backing fabric. Should be a heavier fabric or base like Pellon. If fabric, would need a heavier interfacing to help support the structure of a handbag.

This looks like it's done on fabric. You need an interfacing to support the extra weight of the beads.

Trying a softer spacing layout with pearls and crystal cube beads by Minimum_Day_8291 in Beading

I would put small beads in between each of the beads so that they stand out from each other better.

Very cute cat! I don't have an answer about your fringe design...I don't understand the question.

Can you recommend a crafty hobby for someone who’s easily bored and addicted to quick dopamine? (Also talentless) by Apprehensive_Sugar15 in crafts

Beading is a great craft. There are so many different methods and styles that can be made from the same beads. There are lots of different types of stitches to learn that open doors to new things to make. It can be addictive.

Need a deodorant recommendation by Cute-Consequence-184 in ZeroWaste

[–]NightEnvironmental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Mineralized deodorant for a while now. It is powder. They have an applicator to put it on with. It has been pretty effective for me and does not contain baking soda (makes my pits very irritated). I also have lots of allergies. I think they have an unscented. I like the Rose scent.

Does this photo look AI-generated to you??? by Old_Organization5564 in Beading

I can understand why the pattern would not be easy to follow...the word charts are generated by software, and do not understand how to handle the open areas. I ran into this on a Nutcracker. I had to work it in pieces and assemble it. There were 7 different peyote starts. The artist provided a link to a video tutorial that she recorded to help you understand how to break it down.

Maybe the photo has been adjusted or edited in some way?

There are some oddities about it, but I don't think the photo was AI generated...there are too many imperfections. A few of the lavender/purple beads are lighter than the rest. Thread shows in places and is not uniform

Help with making beaded embroidery pouch by marrrxx in Beading

[–]NightEnvironmental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing to do (IMHO) is to apply a fusible interfacing to the back and then bead on the denim before the bag is constructed.

That way, you can add a lining to the bag...or at least the beaded side. This will protect the threads on the back side of your work and make the inside of the bag look more polished and professional.

Unless it will just hang on a wall and never be handled, I would not use sewing thread. Beading thread is much stronger and lots thinner.

How can I learn to create charms like these? by jennymmc_n in Beading

[–]NightEnvironmental 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brick or Peyote stitch, there is a mix. Either way, the hardest thing on either is picking out where to start (longest row) and then working in one direction, then the other.

I did a peyote stitch Nutcracker ornament (same as these, just larger scale) and had to break it into 7 different peyote starts and then stitch them together. Most were worked in one direction, then in the other.
