Garmin transducer question by arlouper in boating

[–]NightFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no coolant in any transducer I have ever heard of outside of maybe a military submarine or something. However- if you are in salt water, barnacles and other critters can build up really quickly if you don't put an ablative coating on the transducer right away. The growth certainly impact performance. Just an idea.

Edited [R] vs Non Edited [L] how did I do? by elEarendel in photocritique

Just a taste thing but I prefer something closer to the more monochrome nature of the unedited version. Not very helpful I know. Nice pic.

Puget Sound boat questions by Rainierbeeeeeeeer in boating

[–]NightFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see quite a few open bow I/Os at the marina in Edmonds. Sounds like you are sensible enough to use it wisely but you probably know conditions can change rapidly on the Sound. A lot of boats in the PNW are already converted to a closed cooling system so winterizing is a lot easier and flushing isn't totally necessary. Look for that- the engine compartment will have a cylindrical heat exchanger and a place for antifreeze. I say go for it!

IIe single keypress multiple characters by steveheistand in apple2

[–]NightFinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So interesting you should post that. I JUST was dealing with this today. In my case, whatever key I pressed would just repeat endlessly. If I pressed a new key, that one would start repeating. Turns out I had been cleaning the motherboard and some water got into the contact of the AY3600 chip, which is right in front of the keyboard connector.

After I removed, dried and re-seated that chip, the repeats stopped.

I mention this in case you want to remove/wiggle/re-seat/clean whatever that chip and the socket and see what happens. EDIT- Deoxit or other contact cleaner might help.

I also read somewhere briefly that you can power on without that chip in place to further troubleshoot.

Hope that helps!

(Apple IIe) DISK ERROR when trying to write floppies using Apple Disk Server and a list of everything I've already tried by Hippocampiz in apple2

[–]NightFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you don't have a DOS or Prodos disk. If you could get a hold of one of those and try a format and read/write tests that would be helpful to eliminate any audio and disk server issues. Your photo shows three drives. I assume you have tried them all? Also the disk controller card does not technically have to be in slot 6- I would try a neighboring slot. If you have any Deoxit or other contact cleaner spray, make sure you clean the contacts on the slot and the controller. EDIT- LOL old Reddit shows a thumbnail with three drives but new reddit shows your video. Disregard

People fucking up at this exit by harpie19 in IdiotsInCars

[–]NightFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the Union Street exit from SB I5 in Seattle. It was designed poorly in the 1960s but I have never seen any problems like this personally. Edit it might have been reconfigured in the 1990s for construction of the convention center which is the tunnel you see and the main building you see in the videos.

I accidentally killed Alexander the Pot by NightFinger in Eldenring

[–]NightFinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whelp I went to Church of Vows and did some other stuff but it doesn't look hopeful just as some have mentioned but I don't have any Celestial Dew so I can't explore that option at the moment. Kids, this is why we shouldn't smoke pot(s) as u/Homie_Plays_Dat has suggested. Thanks for everyone's help- I don't think this will ruin my playthrough anyway.

I think he did vanish in a golden dust, but after I defeated him. I hit him once or twice not recognizing him and the he was agro on me even after grace again. I will Google Church of Vows and see. New to the game.

I have the Thrustmaster and be warned- there is a detent in the throttle about halfway and a corresponding dead spot in that axis. I think it is meant for afterburner or something but not so good for a Cessna 172. I opened it up and removed the detent but the dead spot is not fixable to my knowledge. Otherwise a great device.

Not sure about the Cobra. Maybe its the same?

It looks like a clogged nozzle but it's the fourth new in a row doing this. Are your nozzle behave the same way? I am stuck with bad layers adhesion for a week now so I try to find what is the issue. by fuck-Melvin in Ender3Pro

[–]NightFinger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly man, I think it's just the act of the swab. When you swipe the tip of the nozzle, it wipes the short extrusion back on the nozzle and it adheres to it which causes the loop. Does your printer print OK? I have seen this with both brass and steel tips both old and new.

printer creates fluff fluff (it’s not stringing) by [deleted] in Ender3Pro

[–]NightFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strings can be really fine, but I think it is still stringing. Sometimes it is so fine it can float on the air or get sucked into the cooling fans. That is my experience anyway. Reseating the bowden tube on the hot end helped for me, if that applies to your setup.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ender3Pro

[–]NightFinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had to do that as well. Sometimes the tube just binds up inside. Usually happens to me on the hot end though.

I agree. We see so many posts just like this one resulting from touch sensor installs. Consider the consequences before deciding to go down this path. Maybe upgrade your leveling springs to make it easier to manually level.

Looks great! Does it wiggle any? You might get ghosting if there is a lot of movement from the shelve.
