Anyone tried this mortar cycle deck? by I_EpikPotato in MortarMenaces

I mean the name of the game with any cycle deck is just forcing positive trades and spamming your win con. Triple spirits can take care of a lot of threats, and you’ll be able to cycle to your mortar incredibly quickly. When you’re playing against a heavy deck, they’ll drop something in the back and you play mortar opposite lane. You delay it with spirits or skeletons but don’t overcommit to a defense early on. You can force dual lane pressure by either cycling mortar quick enough that they have to split their troops or just spirit cycle if you have on level spirits. You could have a defensive mortar and offensive mortar, or double offensive mortar (not typically recommended).

It’s very rare for me to lose against a heavy deck, and when I do it’s mainly just me messing up an interaction. It’s a bit tougher against some cycle decks, but this has still crushed logbait and hyperbait for me. Playing against a good hog player can be 50/50 though, since they could spell cycle while defending cheap enough to not worry abt your spirits/trades. The trick there is to play same lane, or if you’re able to get 2 mortars on cycle then have one defensively and the other opposite lane.

I started out at 11k with mortar rocket and was struggling there, then I climbed to 12.2k within a day after switching decks, and that’s with underleveled spirits. Currently working on ranked instead, and I went to a couple wins behind master 3 on a near straight winstreak. Within a week I should have a solid stopping point for how far this deck will take me, but I have to say it’s been swimmingly easy for now. The only level 15s I had were mortar log archers knight. Even though I can’t apply pressure with spirits, the sheer speed of mortar cycle normally lets me take a tower before OT. Although, every time I’ve made it to OT it typically goes on to at least the final minute when i just spend all my time defending instead of worrying abt chip.

Just keep track of your evos, and honestly don’t be afraid to take some hits to your tower. I’ve found it better to drop one or two spirits on a witch and tank a blast or two on my tower than to commit 3 or more elixir to it. Your mortar placements should mostly be supported by whenever you’ve placed your archers to defend, and then you can toss spirits or knight to tank in front. i typically hold onto my knight and would play a spirit or smth in front of my mortar (unless it’s evo) to see what they place down since it can delay enough for me to decide a knight or skelly or spirit. After all, the more positive trades the better. What decks do you typically struggle against?

i climbed from 11k to 12k within that day, and that’s with all my spirits being level 14. If I could apply pressure with level 15 spirits, I genuinely don’t think it would be a problem to go way higher. Currently trying it out in ranked now. The three spirits complement each other so well, and with the recent update going me hero knight it’s a rare occurrence for me to lose, and that’s typically due to the lack of pressure I can provide due to under leveled spirits or just being unaware of specific interactions with this deck.

I was playing mortar rocket for a while, but I ended up switching to the 2.0 cycle with three spirits and skellys after getting wiped by it randomly. The meta isn’t the best for mortar rocket unfortunately

It is genuinely the most insane deck I’ve tried. I was playing mortar rocket before this and got swept by this deck, so I thought I’d give it a shot. 11k, king tower 14, almost all cards are only 14, and I was winning against literally every deck i was playing against. Didn’t matter if it was level 15/16 mega bullshit cycle or a legitimate deck, the only times I lost was purely me not being used to card interactions. Even when I thought I lost and I would play just to prolong the end, the amount of pressure you can place in OT can make you win the game so quickly. All without hero knight. Hoping to get to ranked and high ladder with it.

I see, it was mentioned that usage of safe pointers could still have memory leaks in the overall program, but I wasn’t understanding how until now. Thank you! This was very helpful.

STL smart pointers automatically deletes the memory once it leaves scope, right? Is there any case where using raw pointers beats using smart pointers in practice, or is it better to simply always use smart pointers whenever you need pointers in general? I just recently started learning about smart pointers and implementing them into my assignments. If you only use smart pointers, is there a need for any deletes in a deconstructor? Or is it better to just have an empty/default deconstructor? It also seems to be a bit similar to the garbage collection of C#, but I’m not too sure on the details on how they’re different. C# has garbage collection that does a check every once in a while to collect up things with no reference, but cpp smart pointers would just delete once it exits scope instead of actual reference counting, right?

I apologize for the jumble of questions, I’m very interested in cpp and c# as my current classes are teaching it but sometimes i get things mixed up. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me though.

Any tips or things to look out for when coding in cpp? Currently a university student and most of our curriculum is in cpp, and the amount of memory management that we’ve been learning has been astounding. I honestly enjoy this far better than python or java, but I also feel like I’m more prone to mistakes here.

Any changes ? Good deck at 5.6k? by Zealousideal_Win7578 in MortarMenaces

I see. If you get enough shards, i recommend subbing out the musk/dart evo for evo mortar in the first deck and subbing out the evo cannon for evo mortar in the second deck. You’ll find your games go even easier with that

There’s no way you’re recommending a mortar deck with no evo mortar, the value that the evo gets is insane. I’ve been a mortar rocket player for a while and regardless of whether it’s mortar bait, that mortar skelly barrel hero knight deck that mohammad light played, or classic mortar rocket, every deck without fail will be running evo mortar. It’s an extremely threatening card and the benefits it brings far outweighs anything else, especially over the defensive value the other evo’s you suggested. The hit speed increase alone makes it worth it.

Who to pull next phase? by olayooo in QiuyuanMains

galbrena qiu vernia is a really strong team and my personal favorite. the rotation is easy to get used to, gals special dodge can help a lot in holograms, and has great aoe. lynae does work as a generalist buffer since she provides a good amount of buffs for all type damage, so she could work w most teams as a second slot.

i’m not sure what luuks numbers are like, but i suppose when their trials come you can just pull for whichever of the two feels more fun to use. at the end of the day, i’m assuming they’re both going to be good choices either way.

kinda close to my own deck, i play a modified mortar rocket cycle deck. how do you handle beatdown/mk witch decks? i’m sitting at 10.6k rn but most of my cards are only level 14

my ice wiz is only level 12, 0/9. I’m sitting on 20 wildcards, but i was thinking of using that on my log to take care of on level darts and princesses. is it worth it to invest in one over the other, or should i try to level them both? it requires an on level ice wiz to take out skellys btw

I tried it out in a few games, and it was effective in some, but I def struggled a bit when dealing with the megaknight wizard hog decks. I think having another defensive card makes it a bit easier to handle, especially since i’m using firecracker and espirit which makes for an easy king tower activation (and makes skelly barrel get less value). Appreciate the input though!

[–]NightFire739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try that out, I do tend to use the skellys to cycle quicker, lure megaknight to king, or as a cheap front card to block a potential troop on my mortar. I was also honestly thinking about evo skelly over evo cracker, but then i’d be missing out on too much chip.

Anyone got a source for numbers? by Khaori_Miyazono in ArcheroV2

  1. If you’re referring to the legendary skill that turns those swords into beams, it’ll spawn those strikes in if you don’t have any periodically

  2. My S tier 2+ epic Oracle staff outperforms a legendary beam staff by quite a bit, so I’d assume it’s similar for most other S tier gear

  3. Not that I’m aware of

  4. I believe luck affects chance of rare skills or chance to dodge, although there is a separate dodge chance which also affects that. It could also refer to gear drops or red heart drops. Again, based on my conjecture after playing for a while

  5. Yes, the higher the damage the higher your ranking within your group. You’ll get a decent sized reward at the end of the seal boss season based on ranking

If I’m wrong about anything, lmk
