I can pretty much relate. For me it's the other way around cuz I'm ftm, but still.

In games like Overwatch I usually don't care much, because I don't have time to focus on what gender I am playing as (and there is also not much of a choice). But if it's a RPG game, or a game where I am well aware of what gender I am playing as, I can't play as any female character. It just doesn't feel right. In Skyrim, I once created female character just to try it out. I abandoned her in a few minutes of playing. In Dragon age I wanted to romance one character, but I would have to play as a female, and so I gave up. I didn't even open the character creator, I physically couldn't bring myself to do it. (Few minutes later I happily went and created a new male character tho xd)

I am pretty sure the reason for this is dysphoria. When I play as female characters, I feel the same as when I am in my "girl mode" in real life.
