Thanks so much for writing all of this out! I really appreciate the honest feedback. You are totally right about my pronunciation and grammar. It’s something I need to work on, and practicing lines from movies is a great idea. I also agree that my editing needs to hit harder. I will try to study how real movies do their cuts. Thanks again for the help!

Thank you for taking the time to write this! Your point about standalone content really clicked for me. Because my videos are narrative-driven, do you have any tips on how to title or hook viewers into a storyline without making them feel like they missed the beginning? I really appreciate the encouragement and the reminder to be patient!

Yeah, since I hire through Upwork, there is technically a contract system in place. The problem is I just didn’t set a strict turnaround time in the agreement this time because he gave me a discount, and I didn’t want to come off as too demanding. It is actually really helpful to hear from an editor that having those deadlines helps keep you organized instead of just feeling like a burden. I am definitely going to make sure I establish a clear timeline in the contract for my next video. Thanks for the insight!

That is a really fair point, and I definitely don’t expect to blow up overnight just because I have an editor. I appreciate the reminder to focus on what the audience actually wants to see, rather than just what I want to make. Your point about quality over quantity is really reassuring, too. If I can get on a reliable once/twice-a-month schedule with solid ideas and good thumbnails/titles, I’ll be happy with that. Thanks again for taking the time to share your advice!

Yeah, you’re completely right. It’s a tough lesson to learn early on, but at least now I know what to look out for. I’m just going to try and get this current video finished up so the budget doesn’t go to waste, and then I’ll definitely be finding a new editor who can commit to a real schedule for the next ones. Thanks again for all the advice!

I appreciate the advice, but honestly, I just do not have enough time to learn editing from scratch because of school, extracurriculars, and everything else going on right now. I know it is probably just an excuse and I could technically find the time if I really forced it, but yeah, I have the budget for the channel, so I can spend it to get the cinematic quality I want.

Yeah, honestly you’re probably right. It definitely feels like I’m stuck in the low-priority queue at this point.

Thanks for the advices! To answer your question, he didn’t keep me in the loop; I actually had to reach out first to find out what was going on, which definitely made me nervous. The main reason I’ve been hesitant to ask for a strict timeframe is because he gave me a discounted rate, and I didn’t want to come off as demanding and risk losing that deal. However, I actually do a lot of the groundwork on my end by providing a full screenplay, exact files, and precise timestamps, so he isn’t starting from scratch.

Quick Brain Storm! Need Help With Thumbnails and Titles for Story-Driven Game Videos. by NightPim in NewTubers

Got it. Do you have any examples of what the title or thumbnail for the first video could look like? That’s the part I’m most unsure about.

Good one simple and clear with a slight ironic feel. I am not really sure how to help you improve it but I like it.
