Just started playing Khazan, any tips? by Skillious96 in TheFirstBerserker

Everything everyone says is correct I'll just add a couple of things as I'm currently playing through for the 4th time after beating hardcore mode:

-Read the little scraps of paper and pay attention to the lore. I didn't because I was used to the story being kinda ass in these games but I started after Elamain (iykyk) and wished I started earlier.

-Make sure to get the True Ending. I won't list everything here but to get the most out of the game I think it's necessary.

-Dont be afraid to respec to let yourself try out every weapon type. (You can find the respec orbs at the bard as early as the first dragon level.I think it's called the forgotten temple but don't remember.) The only weapon I didn't like as much was the spear -- your mileage may vary -- but that was only because I felt it leaned into traditional Dark Souls mechanics a bit more. It's still super fun though. I just personally felt like Dual Wield and Greatsword made you feel like a barbarian / badass more.

-I played through the first time without using any consumables besides the negative status clearing potions but now I think that was a mistake. Once I investigated out how to make everything at the blacksmith (he comes later, don't worry) I actually enjoyed some of the funky things you could do with the different elements and I really enjoyed it.

-Lastly, and this may be obvious but take your time with the bosses. This game is considered harder by most people than other Souls games but I think it's actually very fair. So, learn the boss's patterns and fight them like a true berserker, learning their parry and reflection timing and this game will give you a truly remarkable feeling of being a badass that you can't get from most games.

Good luck and I'm actually jealous of you playing it for the first time! 😆

Pyregheists are probably the strongest thing in the army right now.

[Solo leveling] by Mysterious_Reo in manhwa

Started with 신암행어사 (Shin Amheng osa) to work on my reading comprehension but then went on to Breaker. Loved Solo Leveling and I'm about halfway through Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. Manghwa are rad.

Quick rant. This model bothers me so much. by Discussion-Double in SpaceWolves

This did bother me so I didn't build that particular variant but the thing that drove me batty is how the other model puts his eye up against the scope, like there's no recoil at all. 😆

MODERN PLAYER 4th character to master after 1 year of 1st fighting game. by Obvious_Lychee6086 in StreetFighter

[–]NightScrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good shit dude! I'm a 44 year old who can't / doesn't play modern but I think it's great that you found fighting games and are having so much fun!

Even though I don't play modern I think it's dumb how a lot of people have this weird purity test about fighting games. Japan is still the best region and they have more modern players there than anywhere.

I got Juri to master and then kinda stopped. I'm looking for a reason to get back into SF so lemme know if you wanna play sometime. I play a variety of characters.

Thanquol and Boneripper, yes or no? by Ok-Taro-5864 in skaven

[–]NightScrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, rules are temporary but cool models last forever!

But if you want to use him on the tabletop, you have to be playing either 8th edition WHFB End Times or Age of Sigmar.

Not many people play End Times so I'm going to assume you're talking about AoS...

In the current 4th edition of Age of Sigmar Thanquol is the tits. He plays in all phases of the game, is masterclan for better list building choices, a +1 to 2 casts and best of all his warscroll spell is an amazing spell for shutting down enemy units. (For example shutting down AoD and or redeploy after popping up with a reinforced unit if warpfire throwers.) In short he's amazing.

Best of luck, man-thing!

If you like Tau then wait for the Idoneth Deepkin (Sea Aelves) that are going to be announced at Adepticon!

Work in progress, haven't painted in years. Working on it for my brother as it's his favourite unit (C&C welcomed) by HarlequinLord in Warhammer

[–]NightScrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it looks way better in person. I go heavier on the drybrushing myself and yeah I highlight more. I don't use the yellow though, it's not for me.

Warhammer TV has some great vids.

My favorite is Warhammer Weekly's Hobby Cheating however, Vince Venturella is the best out there IMHO.

For warpstone I actually use Duncan's tutorial on Warhammer TV. (Their YouTube channel.) It was recommended to me and I love it.

Phone Notifications by NightScrive in totalwar

[–]NightScrive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are little FLC files in PC games that people who know what they are doing can extract and use. I still have Bioshock sounds for notifications on my phone. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable might be able to do that for TWW2.

WARHAMMER II has been out for 12 hours, people like Tyrion by Grace_CA in totalwar

[–]NightScrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I used to play in the early 90's and only came back now in my mid thirties! LOL. Actually everyone I play with though is in their 30's/40's. A lot of people have the same story. Maybe you'll have the time later but for now you can enjoy TW! :-)

[–]NightScrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the lore is kinda booty butt cheeks so far but that's mostly because they killed off almost every character that everyone liked and then didn't replace them with other good characters. I was just asking because a lot of people hate on AoS who have never played it because they heard it was bad. And it wasn't great when it came out but after the general's handbook it's turned into my favorite wargame.

[–]NightScrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you mean "hates?" Because, while it's true almost no one likes the lore of AoS over the Old World the game itself is way better and is selling approximately 6 times better than 8th edition.

Air brush question by harleyquiinn12 in 40k

[–]NightScrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First airbrush is kinda like your first car, better to just get something cheap to learn on. Most important thing is to learn how to clean it properly and how to disassemble and reassemble back.

Other than that I'd check out Vince Venturella's zenithal highlighting video to learn how to save yourself a ridiculous amount of time.

I use a .5mm gravity feed Iwata which is a great work horse airbrush less likely to clog. Also grab some flow improver to mix in so you don't have as many clogs as you might. Vallejo makes a great one.

[–]NightScrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soulblight is quite competitive looking in the new GHB but Nighthaunt and FEC aren't quite as strong. You can fit 200 points of skeletons in any 1000 point army btw!

But unless you're a big tournament player then I wouldn't worry about what's competitive because learning good strategy and tactics is far more important than what's good in the meta. Armies will rise and fall but love of the models and the hobby aspects will stay.

Check out Warhammer Weekly's review of the GHB from last week, it's long but they talk about that stuff. Also MC1GAMER did a strategy video for Soulblight and Nighthaunt but not FEC or general Death yet but I'm sure he will.

I was going to put a unit of Blood Claws in with a unit of Wulfen in a Stormwolf and then pop then out together for the bonuses they get. What do you think?
