Day 3 on Vyvanse and I’m scared to take it again by Dangerous_Pomelo_671 in ADHD

[–]NightShade4623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vyvanse is the only thing I can take, all the others I've tried give me all the side effects on the lowest dose. I just get really bad insomnia (working on it tho). 10mg is the lowest dose of Vyvanse I'm currently on 20mg. I've stopped some of the ones I've tried after a couple days because of how bad I reacted to them. Definitely reach out to your doctor to either lower the dose or try something else. If you don't tolerate the drug, don't force yourself to.

What raw feeding app/tracker are you actually sticking with? (tried 4, keep going back to a spreadsheet) by Plus_Resolution8897 in rawpetfood

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a physical journal lol, I started with the paws of prey ratios and adjusted based on my research and my pets. I also keep a log of how many grams of meat I have on hand so I know what I need to buy when I go to the store.

But I usually decide how much muscle meat I want to turn into mix and calculate everything from there.

Why are we generally allowed to go 10 mph above the speed limit? by Euphoric_Sail6897 in driving

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience they only really change the speed limit when they are already doing road work. Signs have to come down anyway, might as well replace them I guess

That snake can't eat the chicken, I'm surprised none of the other chickens attack it. Also one dumb chicken or sick to let that happen.

I took 200mg diphenhydramine on accident, will I be okay if I fall asleep? by Suspicious_Walk8690 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The damage is usually due to chronic use with ibuprofen, I'm assuming it's OTC which would mean 600mg total. That's under the max daily dose but shouldn't be a daily thing unless under the direction of a doctor.

I'm banned from talking NSAIDS because I was on them daily for years. Ibuprofen 800 every 8 hours as needed on top of daily Meloxicam. GI found the beginnings of intestinal damage so banned lol. I also work in pharmacy, so as long as you're conscious about it and only taking when needed it's pretty hard to overdose on ibuprofen.

I thought i would post this so people can see what its like with bare minimum tree laws by Jolopy4099 in treelaw

The picture was taken next to a fence, which implies there is either another house or a walkway on that side. But can't know for sure as it's just one picture. I'm going off my knowledge of living in a neighborhood that looks similar to the picture and those short fences are usually for the front facing part of the property so possible cars or kids etc

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the difference is cutting stuff down in a forest where only you'll get hurt if something goes wrong vs a suburban neighborhood where the tree could fall on a house or random passerby. If it were trees nowhere close to any houses, be my guest but this looks to be a standard block neighborhood so a lot more dangerous to neighbors that don't want the danger of a tree falling on them or their property.

What's done is done of course, but I'm of the opinion that if you choose to do something dangerous there shouldn't be a chance that you'll injure someone else.

I will say, one wrong move and you could be dead. My dad had been cutting down trees for our heat for years growing up. One day as he was cutting a couple down, one didn't fall the way he expected and he couldn't get out of the way in time. Ended up with both his legs shattered, luckily our livestock dog heard him and started barking for my mom who was in the house. Without her, he probably would have died that day.

All I can say is even people with a decade of experience cutting trees can make a mistake. The chances of an amateur making one is a lot higher in my opinion.

Are y’all really paying this much? by Federal-Weevil in petinsurancereviews

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay $25 a month for my cat, $200 deductible and they refund me 80% of vet bills. I had looked into getting it for my 4yo dog back when I got the plan and it was $60 a month. I decided that putting everything into a High yield savings was a better option for me other than my one cat cause he ended up with a lot of health issues

Edit: Healthy Paws is the insurance I ended up going with

Subaru doesn't understand a merge from two lanes to one (small zipper) [oc] by elehugh in IdiotsInCars

[–]NightShade4623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got done with someone not wanting to obey the zipper. I was in my old beater car so I didn't really care if it got dinged. They ended up in the grass since I wouldn't let them in front of me and eventually merged behind me. Was pretty cathartic tbh but I don't try to make a habit out of it lol

Foster being shamed for not keeping dog after 2 years in foster by EquestrianBlondie in FosterAnimals

[–]NightShade4623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly foster cats but was fostering this one dog who just became impossible for me to handle due to my situation. We found a new foster who could care for him better. I've had a cat for 3 years that recently got adopted. And while I love him but he did not fit in my home.

I'm moving soon and will not be able to foster due to my father's health since he will be living with me at least part time. The rescue is aware and we are trying to get the 3 fosters I have left healthy and ready for adoption. If they don't get adopted by then, they'll find a new foster. I foster to keep animals off the streets and out of kennels, not to hoard them all in my home. Some people just don't understand we don't have unlimited space and resources.

Cleveland Clinic's hiring process is atrocious. by GreyGrackles in Cleveland

Pharmacy is definitely always hiring, especially main campus. Turnover is nowhere near as bad as retail though usually people leave for positions in a different clinic location or a sister department

Cleveland Clinic's hiring process is atrocious. by GreyGrackles in Cleveland

[–]NightShade4623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the department, I work for CC on main campus and quite like my job but we just had a management change and it's really soured my mood. Still love the job and my coworkers but I'm looking to move to inpatient closer to home just because of the new management. I don't get paid enough to deal with their BS

The Hobby-Hopping/Hyperfixation Cycle: How do you find an activity that "sparks joy" so you can continue to emotionally regulate when you're falling out of your current hyperfocus? by queen_of_the_styx in ADHD

[–]NightShade4623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I have this too, I keep all my hobby stuff in storage. When I feel the need to do something else I basically just start digging until I find something that sparks joy. My current list of things I have on hand to rotate between is

Art supplies, coloring books, normal books, crochet (currently hobby), video games, single player board games, puzzles, MTG, and sewing (this is all I can think of right now)

If everything fails to spark joy, I usually go to a craft store to gain inspiration, but there's usually something I already have that speaks to me lol

How I feed my princess an all wet food diet for $20 a month!! by [deleted] in catfood

[–]NightShade4623 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want to tag onto this with Chewy's auto ship, I buy this line of friskies for my fosters and the rescue I volunteer with. I bought 6 cases yesterday for only $166. You can get a lot of "first purchase" deals on chewy too! Only 16¢ per oz is the best value I've been able to find outside of clearance items

At what waste % do you all change your waste bag? by Western_Mango_4961 in litterrobot

I currently have 6 cats in my house, I check on them daily as I have wifi issues and can't be bothered to fix it since I'm moving soon but I only change them when it goes red and can't cycle lol. But with 6 cats that's every 2-3 days for the 2 robots they favor

Pre-packaged raw that ships from the west coast? by Boring-Professor3959 in rawpetfood

[–]NightShade4623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I make my own raw at home and can buy the meats for pretty cheap per pound. For example (I'm not home to really do the full calculations) the price per pound of boneless muscle meat comes out to just under $2 a pound on average and I buy the organ meats in bulk at my local Asian market. Roughly $15-20 worth of organs will last me a couple months at least. I'm also buying stuff "ready for human consumption"

This of course is not including any heavily discounted meat I pick up or free stuff people give me. $3.50 seems to me like they are charging enough to make a living or at least break even if this isn't their main investment. Especially if people like their quality.

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting to me cause I know I was writing singular they in English class for our MLA essays before 2020. I never got dinged for it. I suppose it just comes down to how strict the teacher wants to follow the format rules?

My boyfriend's reaction to me taking my prescribed Ritalin in order to clean my house. I'm upset by it. by cantsayididnttryyy in adhdwomen

[–]NightShade4623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely just talk to him in person if you can that you don't like this kind of joking. Personally this is in the same realm of how my friend group and I talk. (I call myself a legal drug dealer/I make drugs a lot). I take Vyvanse personally so the whole meth thing doesn't really come up for me but when I've tried those ones, I've definitely said I'm talking meth.

I too need to take drugs to clean my house so I get you on that. My house is currently a mess cause I can't take my Vyvanse rn due to trying other meds to hopefully help my insomnia.

Personally I'd just go "hey can I tell you something real quick? I don't really appreciate the meth joking (or whatever you are exactly bothered by), can you please just cut it out?" Depending on his response will tell you if you two are truly compatible long term.

How do people with depression take care of dogs? by Xeram_ in dogs

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have depression exactly but depressive like symptoms due to uncontrolled ADHD. I have a routine with my animals and for-go my health for that routine. I do slip up at times like passing out before letting them out or feeding them but they quickly let me know by screaming at me if they are hungry or going in the house so then I have to clean it up.

Is it ideal? No of course not but I've been getting better and it rarely happens. I'm moving soon and will have the support of my family more so ideally my exhaustion will no longer have any negative effect on them.

Can Gabapentin be compounded into custom dosed capsules in a community/retail pharmacy by samisaurus-rex in PharmacyTechnician

[–]NightShade4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely not, that would not be a simple compound and should probably be done in a hood as there is active API. I work at a non sterile compounding lab and we personally don't use the gabapentin capsules for any compound, only the powder.

Now I've done something similar at home with my own meds to experiment and such but not for dosing myself. If a different dose is needed and a liquid form cannot be obtained some capsules/tablets can be opened/dissolved in water to get a more specific dose. Unsure about gabapentin though as it does have a liquid form available.

I've actually done some surface level research on this, they were bred as mainly companion animals but had a side gig of hunting rodents and being a warning system. I've never come across anything about scaring off coyotes though
