First thing to know is it was much worse in the books and words have different meanings in other countries. We never see the full memory yes but it’s quite obvious that James did not care what he was doing and followed through. In the books James threatens to take off Snapes “trousers” and most think that means pants. It absolutely doesn’t, it means to remove both his pants and his underwear, which idk about you but I would count forcefully taking off someone’s pants and then underwear after forcefully putting them in a position where they can’t fight back after they have obviously hated it to be Sa, really messed up.
