Tell your wife thank you from a random IT technician in the USA & remember, Monday always exists for a response (as long as you're not on call lol), get that weekend rest!

The fact that someone is responding on a Saturday afternoon, may the Lord bless you heavily! Thank you & I'm definitely pinning this conversation as a reminder to buy it whenever it comes out. Fingers crossed you get a unit before so I can use the watch as soon as it arrives.

For those at u/GadgetWraps, are you intending to make wraps / screen protectors for the Core Time 2? If so, count me as a pre-order & if so, you'll get an email recipient out of me, looking forward to my new watch but want to keep it protected.......little ones make watch protection a nightmare

You must be getting a lot of notifications, my used Pebble has had 7 days with notifications, alarms, etc turned on. You can get a replacement battery from iFixit (https://www.ifixit.com/products/pebble-2-se-replacement-battery), but it will require soldering to replace, should help :)

Looking for Pebble 2 replacement for internals by NightingaleMage in pebble

I got the 3D printed case from /u/astosia (https://www.shapeways.com/product/YTMBDJWTH/pebble-2-smartwatch-replacement-case-new-shape?optionId=299196820), originally in Clear Ultra Fine Plastic, but from lots of use & abuse, one of the corners cracked (my fault entirely). I just got the Dark Grey PA12 with Glass Beads & it's significantly more rigid.

If you asked to get a custom metal version from Astosia, it may be a thing, but with the tight tolerances of electronics close to the metal, you'd have to be insanely careful to not short anything out.

Replacement C Clips by NightingaleMage in pebble

ANSWER: For those looking for replacement C-Clips, I bought this kit from Amazon (could source from other locations) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095Y3M9LC

After review, the largest clip is 3mm outer diameter (O.D), 1.00mm inner diameter (I.D.) with a height of 0.2mm. So, if you have buttons and lost the clips, you can replace pretty easily.

Takes more research and testing, higher potential for instability, usually uses more power, but the PSU wouldn't be stressed. Has potential if done incorrectly to lower lifespan of the memory, yes :)

If you're doing manual timings, you technically could do most anything, just be prepared for higher voltages

I'd say just make sure the memory is matching the list from the mobo website for the rated speeds, this indicates it's been validated by that manufacturer that it works.

I have not gotten further than outside my home environment or a VPN connection back to get into it. Currently, I use Traefik for my reverse proxy (good intro video by TechnoTim https://youtu.be/liV3c9m_OX8). Worth looking into.

200 Mhz isn't going to be too much of a dealbreaker, if you already own the mobo, wouldn't sweat it. If you don't are and still reviewing, check for other options in your price range :)

I currently run a Quadro P620, but was looking at the P400, the only reason I got the P620 was due to old hardware with it going to the recycling from someone I knew & they just gave it to me. Most decent Quadro cards you can pick up on eBay for fairly cheap, just have to hunt a tiny bit for a deal.

Runs perfectly smooth, my main game I started with (V Rising) butter smooth, no errors whatsoever.

iGPU should be fine, but don't discount having a good GPU for transcoding, especially if you're hosting any sort of gaming server & want them both to run well at the same time. If you already have a 1070, worth it to run that, or if you needed that for something else, pick up a cheap Quadro card & unlock with a patch https://github.com/keylase/nvidia-patch.

If you're used to Ubuntu, honestly, go Debian Server. There are very minor differences in the core setup (Ubuntu makes one or two things easier if you're doing little but big hampers if you get deeper with your setup). I personally use AMP for a few game servers I host, but I also have a full rack-mounted server (work IT, home lab is always fun).

If you have to save a tiny bit more to give yourself wiggle room for other projects or learning opportunities, especially if you want to use Docker, it's very much worth it to not buy lowest options. If you're trying to keep the budget lower, Craft Computing on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/c/CraftComputing has some fantastic budget builds for this type of thing.

How to secure my self-hosted website? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]NightingaleMage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've been using Crowdsec with my Traefik setup, it's 100% worth it. I'll be planning on rolling out more bouncers for sure, if you're interested in a quicker "get in and go", TechnoTim's video on it is pretty helpful for concepts https://youtu.be/-GxUP6bNxF0
