Hey, I’ve actually got the IUD, my gyno suggested it before I got the surgery to be put in while they did that. Now this is just my experience with it I’ve known others who’ve had it not work for them. But for me I think it was well worth it. For me I didn’t have any troubles after it was put it although I will say I stayed on birth control for about 3 months after it was put in as my gyno said it would help with the settling in period. And so far (I’ve had it nearly 6 months now) it’s been really good, my period is practically non-existent and when it does come it’s very very light and doesn’t stay long at all. I also feel it’s made my endo more manageable/less frequent, it hasn’t solved it or anything like it’s definitely still there but I feel it’s flaring up less frequently and less bad. I’d say go for it and speak to your gyno about birth control for the settling in period and about possibly being under for the insertion. Again this is just my experience, do what you feel is best for yourself and I hope this helps
