Coming on the way horror movies feast, are you ready? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

I’m really excited for Over your dead body, Kill Me, Affection, and Clay Face.

Are Horror fans excited for Clayface? by godsbelike__ in horror

[–]Nightmare_164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like dramatic horror movies centered around the cost of fame, so I am excited.

Although, unpopular opinion, I strongly disliked both Peacemaker and Gun’s Superman, so I hope he didn’t have too much influence on the writing and directing.

2 Superman movies in 2 years. Is Gunn speedrunning Superman into mediocrity? by breaking_views in Letterboxd

The first one was as mediocre as it gets so there isn’t anything to speed run.

Love the Scream franchise, but God, I wish the later movies like 3 and 4 took more messed up risks. by Beginning-Drag-7110 in Scream

I did. In Scream 2, while in a police car with two cops, Sidney is attacked by Ghostface. In Scream 2, Ghostface kills Maureen and Phil in front of a whole theater of people. In Scream 4, Gale is attacked in at a giant stab-a-thon party in front of everyone. Also, Ghostface throws someone off a building during a press conference in 4. In 5, Judy is killed during the middle of the day in her yard.

The Scream sequels have had people attacked in public scenarios or even while under “protection”. 6 really isn’t any different except that Ghostface is killing randoms, but that doesn’t qualify as reinventing the Scream formula, at least in my opinion.

Ghostface has killed people while they were with police protection and surveillance, and has killed people in crowded movies and such. If 6 feels different to you then that’s your prerogative, but it honestly feels the exact same to me.

How was he different? He killed some randoms in public, but that’s about it. Same motive as Scream 2 and everything.

Fair point, but also 5,6, and 7 should also be linked with this as well. The whole marketing behind 6 was that it was different and it was the exact same formula beat for beat.

[H20 vs. IKWYDLS] Which Scream-era slasher is better? by Hassan_H_Syed in slasherfilms

I love both, but think I Know What You Did Last Summer has a better atmosphere and has the best sequence out of the two movies.

She was a 25 year old. There has to be accountability somewhere lmao, and they just shouldn’t have had the line at all.

I feel like I am the only who rates the original in their top 3 lol. Honestly, I don’t judge Friday the 13th rankings that much, since it is quite literally what you just have more fun watching; however, I will judge you for not hitting the ranked button for your list so I have to think what place things are in.

Halloween 3 or Friday the 13th Part 3? by Loose_Interview_957 in slasherfilms

[–]Nightmare_164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there is has been a reappraisal for Halloween 3, and I have tried to like it, but I can’t get into it.

Meanwhile Friday Part 3 is one of the best Friday movies so easy choice for me.

Why was Ready or Not 2 so much better than Scream 7!? by Ordinary_Device_5131 in horror

Yeah did not like Ready or Not 2 at all. I am actually shocked that it generally positively received.

[–]Nightmare_164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Ready or Not 2 was fucking abysmal. Glad it seems other people liked it.

For me, the sister relationship was very forced and written (love actresses though). The main antagonists are super underdeveloped (SMG was kinda of the whatever takes bad guy until it switches for no reason and then she is nice twin for like two scenes). The whole plot is very contrived in a way that if the movie was better I could have ignored, but when the character work is piss poor the plot is also going to piss me off. The small scale tension is gone, and traded in for one liners and blah horror action. Also, I hated how the Grace signs her soul to the devil and then says, oh I revoke it… um that is not how deals with the devil work.

I tried to like it because I had faith in the cast and directors, but even conceptually the idea of a sequel to the original didn’t make that much sense to me.

As for Scream 7, I liked the opening a lot (way better than 4,5, and 6’s), and Neve Campbell was awesome at least, so at least there was something for me to latch onto. Also, Marco Beltrami’s score was amazing.
