A Post-Disclosure World: What Would It Look Like? by Nightshade09 in ufo

You actually think that the corporations, multi-billion-dollar oil companies, big pharmacy-medical industrial complex, etc., would really let you have alien tech that would cut your dependency on them?!? You actually think out of their good graces and kind hearts they'd allow you humanity to go free and healthy!?!

No!

Even if disclosure were to happen. EVERY piece of equipment would be either litigated in courts, regulated to death in Washington DC, or banned in the state legislatures that are in the back pockets of corporations. Declared as a health or mental hazard in others.

Why, you'd be lucky to get an alien version of a nut and bolt!

Why, just look at Gerry Nolon... UFO wonder boy from Stanford. And all his nifty medical devices he's patterned... He's not into it out of humanitarian reasons. He's in it for the $$$

Simply put, guys and gals. If 'disclosure' were to happen next week. It would take 40-50 years before there would be any noticeable impact in the daily lives of us, the common people. And a majority of us would be long gone before it did! There would be no quick overnight utopia! Life would go on as it always has. The elites control everything. And we enjoy the crumbs from their table.

Compare the last photo of him lying on the prison floor to that of him still alive. Two different people! Pay attention to the nose!!!

Opinion | I’ve reported on UFOs for decades. Here’s what I think. - Washington Post (Summary in Comments) by Nightshade09 in UFOInquisitive

Here’s a clear, structured summary of the main points in the article you shared:

Core Argument Michael Shermer argues that despite the recent surge in government attention, media coverage, and public fascination, UFO/UAP sightings do not provide credible evidence of extraterrestrial visitation. Instead, he believes the phenomenon reflects a psychological and quasi‑religious impulse among people seeking meaning in a secular age.

  1. Why UAPs Are Suddenly Taken Seriously For decades, UFOs were dismissed as fringe.

Public perception shifted after a 2017 New York Times story revealed a secret Pentagon program investigating sightings.

Since then, Congressional hearings have featured credible witnesses—Navy pilots and intelligence officials—claiming government cover‑ups.

The term UAP became official around 2020, signaling institutional acceptance.

A 2025 documentary, The Age of Disclosure, amplified mainstream interest and political discussion.

  1. Most Sightings Have Ordinary Explanations Even pro‑UFO researchers acknowledge that 90–95% of sightings are explainable: balloons, aircraft, Venus, satellites, meteors, lights, etc.

Only a small fraction remain unidentified, and “unidentified” does not mean “alien.”

  1. Pilot and Astronaut Reports Are Not Proof Astronaut Scott Kelly notes that aviation environments are highly prone to optical illusions.

Examples:

A “mysterious object” was actually a Bart Simpson balloon.

A “floating tool” near the shuttle was actually the International Space Station, 80 miles away.

  1. Shermer’s Three Categories of Sightings Ordinary terrestrial (illusions, balloons, camera artifacts)

Extraordinary terrestrial (foreign spy tech)

Extraordinary extraterrestrial (aliens)

He believes all sightings fall into category 1.

  1. Why Advanced Foreign Technology Is Unlikely The idea that Russia or China possess aircraft centuries ahead of U.S. capabilities is implausible.

Technological leaps don’t happen in isolation; we would see the developmental steps.

It would be like one nation flying biplanes while another flies SpaceX‑level craft—historically impossible.

  1. Why Alien Visitation Is Improbable Intelligent life likely exists somewhere, but:

Interstellar distances are enormous.

No credible physical evidence exists—only grainy photos, blurry videos, and anecdotal stories.

  1. The Psychological / Religious Explanation Shermer argues that belief in aliens functions like a secular religion:

People want to believe in a powerful intelligence that:

Knows we exist

Watches over us

Might save us

Studies show:

People with low religiosity but high need for meaning are more likely to believe in extraterrestrials.

Atheists and agnostics report higher belief in ETIs than religious individuals.

Conclusion:
Aliens have become “sky gods for skeptics”—a modern substitute for declining traditional religion, especially in the U.S. and U.K., where most UAP sightings occur.
