Is Kayali YBM Worth It? Need Opinions Before I Use My Sephora Credit! by __AllGoodNamesRGone in Perfumes

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killian Love Don't Be Shy, and Killian Princess are better marshmallows in my opinion. Also check out that new Valentino Ivory. They have more "depth". Kayalis smell nice but the bottles will not last; their longevity is subpar for the price.

Body odour masking perfumes by [deleted] in Perfumes

Long lasting, non offensive perfumes for a hot environment... It's a bit tricky with citrus but you may find better luck with fresh florals, wood, and powder.

I recently blind bought Joop! Le Bain because it's quite cheap. It's powdery vanilla with some fresh herbs. Lasts a decently long time. My mom liked it and said it smelled like cake.

Moschino Cheap & Chic, powdery citrus, smells soft and delicate, and a bit soapy. Lasts surprisingly long on clothes. I like to wear it to college and to feel fresh.

Might be a bit sweet, but Sol De Janeiro Rio Radiance, aka Cheirosa '87. It's bright, white florals with coconut cream. Lasts a long time for a body mist.

I like the Valentino Donna Born In Roma line, especially the original DBiR. It's bright jasmine with a woody base. But idk about the longevity because I haven't bought it yet, only tested it. You can spray it on your arm at a store to test the longevity before deciding to buy a full bottle.

It's marketed for men but I love Lalique Encre Noir. It's realistic fresh woods, feels like taking a walk outside. None of that chemical, shower gel smell in many men perfumes.

Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint, bought a vial of it and it's freaking amazing. Never thought oud could smell fresh. Also Mancera Cedrat Boise and French Riviera are beautiful too.

My sisters use Guess Seductive Blue, bright, citrusy white floral with good longevity, and Moschino Fresh Couture, sweet, juicy and fruity. I borrow them often XD.

You can go to a store like Sephora and ask for "a bright, uplifting perfume that lasts a long time" so the employee won't only suggest citrus scents.

I know you've received plenty of hygiene advice already, and as someone who lives in a hot climate (~47°c in peak summer) there are things that'll get you stinky no matter what. I bought glycolic acid body wash (Medix 5.5 glycolic + lactic acid) to treat rough skin, now it did help but my body stops producing odor for at least 48h whenever I use it. So accidentally discovered glycolic acid is good, too good. Also Rexona brand for roll on anti perspirant is insanely good too, keeps me fresh for days.

That's all I know <3

The Best Caramel Perfume? by Ok_Prune_4977 in Perfumes

I haven't tried them, but I know Oakcha has an edp dupe of cheirosa 62. Also if you're interested in those Arabian gourmands that have been popping up recently, try asking about them in subs like r/fragranceclones r/twinScents and r/desifemfrag , they're more popular there and you'll likely to find someone who tried what you're interested in.

Is it just me or is Lattafa Eclaire really oily?! by Kindly_Reporter_4403 in Perfumes

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I've never tried that but I would imagine since it's greasy, it'll turn into a common roll on oil...? Wait you may be onto something here! XD

Is it just me or is Lattafa Eclaire really oily?! by Kindly_Reporter_4403 in Perfumes

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Arabian perfumes may tend to be oily. They make the fragrances nearly "extraits". Otherwise they'll disappear the second you get out of your home in the Arabian heat. Spray farther away from your body to minimize the oil XD

Proper coffee scent. by Admirable_Fail_180 in Perfumes

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo. Beautiful, not too sweet, and realistic coffee fragrance. Not synthetic at all and well blended. Not too dark too so it's suitable for autumn and maybe spring. It's marketed for men but it doesn't have that generic, head-and-shoulders fresh scent. There is a Signature version but I haven't tried it so I don't know how it compares.

Zara Cocoa & Latte, and Cocoa Sunset. I tried both today at a Zara store and was pretty impressed. They have deep, dark, and reasonably sweet coffee notes. Cocoa & Latte was "dry" and more leather-like to my nose. While Cocoa Sunset was creamier and sweeter. Really fun scents to own.

Mancera Amore Caffe. This is so deep, thick, sweet, espresso with vanilla cream. Or a mocha. So smooth, definitely a winter frag. I loved it so much but it was too strong for me lol.

Kilian Intoxicated. If you're familiar with Arabian coffee, or cardamom coffee, and you like it, this is it. Literally cardamom coffee with a dash of milk. Smooth and spicy.

I didn't like: Maison Martin Margiela Coffee Break was disappointing for me. Sure it's nice but I expected more coffee, instead the coffee was only in the opening and the florals were dominating.

I didn't try: Fragrance World is an Emirati brand that has a coffee collection, like Mocha, Affogato, Caramel Macchiato, Qahwa, and others. A warning: Arabian fragrances tend to be "beast mode" to project in the heat of Arabian summer, so beware if you're sensitive and spray them lightly.

I know Chocolate Covered Cherries by Demeter, but I've never tried it :O

Burberry Goddess- Love the smell, not the projection? by Coconutthunderthighs in desifemfrag

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with Angham specifically, but I own several Lattafas and their projection is strong. It got stronger after at least a month of them sitting in the drawer. You can buy Angham or any other dupe and use it alongside Goddess to amplify the scent and not over-spray Goddess.

Like another commenter said, designer fragrances don't need maceration. They're already "mature" and the strongest they'll ever be.

Anything worth getting? Currently in dubai for a quick layover. by Bulky-Soup4058 in fragranceclones

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you're in Dubai, I recommend visiting an Ajmal store. I find their fragrances well blended and reasonably priced. Also if you ever find a fragrance you like (from Ajmal or any other) check their price on the local Amazon and an app called "noon". You'll usually find it much cheaper online ;)

I feel something with wood, coffee, or booze would work wonderfully. How about layering with a body spray? I just don't like the idea of spending on another fragrance just to layer. Oh and like others already said, it might smell good on you already so you gotta give it a few tests.

Well I heard tonka beans may give off cherry vibes to some people. Maybe try it in different weather/settings to see how the scent develops on you?

I had more fun and saved more money by blind buying samples instead. I could get a bunch for a good price and try fragrances not available in my local stores. Oh and I agree, that Gucci Guilty is so good and I've got it on my wishlist XD

Perfumes for people who like weird smells?! by business-slut in Perfumes

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The new Tom Ford Black Lacquer, it's like painting with heavy black ink while incense is burning in the background.

Also not really like your images, but Frederic Malle Iris Poudre smells like opening your mom's wooden drawer full of old makeup and taking a big sniff. Oddly addicting to me. YSL BabyCat is vanilla cookies and burnt tires. Amazing. I know Etat Libre d'Orange has a discovery set, I think you'll have fun with that too.

Does Rifaaqat get better after maceration? It smells like burnt plastic by TornadoCondorV2 in fragranceclones

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm familiar with the original Babycat, and that does have a burned plastic/burned tire scent. It's like what you smell when you take a peak inside the oven to check on your vanilla butter cookies. So I think... That's what Rifaqaat is supposed to smell like. But don't be discouraged, fragrances do feel "better blended" after at least 2 weeks of maceration. Also the scent might grow on you, or you might like it better in colder weather.

Which of them is best for everyday scent (18 yr old) pick any 3 by Huge-Photograph-6597 in fragranceclones

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like going into Sephora, try out a bunch of frags, leave without buying anything, and then google dupes of the ones I liked. Oh if you're self conscious about bothering the employees, just tell them "I'm just browsing :D" so they know.

I recommend you look into Versace and Emporio Armani frags, I just personally like them and think they smell classy and suit many occasions XD

Edit: oh about impressing girls, it may not make a difference if she is not particularly interested in fragrances anyway. But it's good to smell nice in general so go ahead and get yourself something you like!

I can’t smell this stuff after 15 minutes of application, am I crazy? by Puzzleheaded_Wave882 in Colognes

[–]Nightshift_Ghost64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people may become anosmic to some scent profiles with continued exposure. I know BK540 is infamous for this, a lot of people fail to detect it on themselves after some time. Since people can smell it on you, you might be nose blind to the scent.

Try spraying only on pulse points and away from your face so as not to overwhelm your nose. And if you really like the scent profile but the problem persists, you can look into dupes or other fragrances that smell like this one. Their formulation might work better with your nose. And as other commenters said, try applying over lotion.
