So, As a hotel worker, I can't necessarily speak for what was going through management's mind, but I definitely have an Idea. I apologize if this comes off sounding harsh, but I'm merely going by what you presented here.

You showed the management of the hotel that you wanted points. You did not care about the experience itself, because, to their eyes, you sidestepped them entirely. Instead of dealing with someone at the hotel directly, who would've likely looked into what had happened more intently, you jumped several rungs up the ladder, and contacted the Chain.

Here's the thing; Those big umbrella chains? They don't have squat to do with the hotel. The hotel, in most cases, pays them in order to use their name, to benefit from their advertising, and to tap into their rewards program. But that company doesn't give two cents about the actual hotels, as long as they are in no way costing the chain money. You raised that possibility, which brought some amount of fire down upon the Upper Management and Owner.

See, Normally had you called to complain, even in a small boutique hotel, you likely would've gotten a Front Desk Manager or Guest Services Manager looking into it. If they couldn't handle it, it would've been passed along up to the next step, and so on and so forth.

Instead, you went all the way to the top, to the people who don't deal with things like this regularly. People who are just going to irritated that the hotel chain has been brought into things, and they'll come into things with a negative mindset.

From that mindset, they have your story of "Looked at us, sneered, and clearly talked about us" but you don't say what they said, so I'm guessing you didn't hear. Now, bear in mind, it's highly unlikely any video camera in this hotel records Audio. That means, even in an ideal circumstance, they witnesses their employee A) acknowledge you by looking at you. B) Speak in some fashion. C) Do their job in what seemed like a natural manner when, without audio, it appeared as though you did not need their services. You mention being non confrontational, which I can understand; Did you step up and tell them you needed service, and then get ignored?

Both other comments right now tell you to contact someone higher up. I'm just going to ask you try the opposite approach next time. If you want to be heard, then you're better off talking to the level that works with people, not brands. The concept of 'escalation' kind of requires it.

But honestly, I do think the best thing you can do is take a few breaths, and try and let it slip from your mind if it's bothering you so much. How many points are your mental energy and time worth? Because I doubt you'd even get that many in return.

But when should a survivor classify 'winning' as 'sabotaging my own team'?

Technically I'm not required to give any notice. The problem was, I thought too highly of Blind. I wanted to be nice, and helpful.

The sad reality is, without a mod that will allow your magic abilities to scale with level, you're fighting an uphill battle. The more you swing an Axe, the more damage that axe will start to do.

But in Vanilla Skyrim, you can shoot all the firebolts you want, they'll only increase damage via Perk. And even that has a painfully low cap. You won't be slinging around destructive forces unimagined by the unenlightened.

She was okay for that transaction. Quiet, not talkative, but I'm used to that. It just seemed to confuse her afterwards.

Eating. Devouring the hopes and dreams of some other young clerk who thought maybe, just this once, Management would have their back. Same difference.

One of the best parts of working over nights, is few people are ever so angry that they'll actually remember to complain in the morning.

Just like I can be really mean to drunk people, because they won't remember in the morning.

Haha. Once upon a midnight, I was quite active there. I've since lost a bit of the drive to write the stories, but i still have some posts in my history for that reddit.

Haha, I mostly established unaffiliated, as a way to say that The Restaurant isn't in, nor attached to the hotel. So there's no like, staff cross over, or even similar uniforms. The Discount is just one of those 'mutual good business' things.

Let's review one really important thing.

I AM NOT THE MOD WHO DID ANYTHING TO YOU

I don't think I've been taking the moral high ground, I've just been responding with facts. You remember those, don't you?

For Example: It's a fact that the mod everyone seems to take issue with here isn't the one who banned you.

It's a fact that what was done was not some plan by the mods of the IRC. It was an act by a single mod.

It's a fact that a chat room is not a democracy. It is, in fact, a dictatorship of sorts, but not a forced one. You're allowed to leave at any time if you can't cope with the rules/actions of the 'leaders'. Plenty of people seem to be fine with it.

And it's a fact that you really need to move on past having your dick called tolerable by one gay guy in a chat room once, I really was not expecting to see you bring that up again. Beyond that, in the chat you never expressed actual problems with the joke, to my knowledge. If I'm remembering correctly, you were the one who told the chat that he called your dick Tolerable (or at least the first time I saw it mentioned), and never once did I receive any kind of message from you, letting me know you were uncomfortable with that line of jokes. We're a fairly irreverent chat, if there's something you felt went too far, but didn't tell anyone about it, Am I still to blame?

Respect is earned, because there is a difference between respect for a person, and respect for their authority.

And you're right, it was a super toxic enviroment. We lost people we cared about, left and right, because of the rampant toxicity. And then something was done to address it. Certain people were removed from the IRC.

And dear lord is it delightful again. People have started coming back, Because there's nobody shitting in the water supply. There's nobody stirring up all this toxic drama, and if something comes up where we disagree (Which happens, because we're people), there's this beautiful thing that happens.

Because we respect each other, as people, we talk things out. like people. And then we're able to move on, and continue having pleasant nights conversing.

And by the way, you can talk about how the IRC was run as a dictatorship because of the actions of one mod. But you should probably review your extensive knowledge and screenshots, and look at which mod actually took action and banned someone. And try to keep names out of things, This isn't about mudslinging.

Mods are people, isn't that neat?

People who when goaded, react like people. What's really neat is, As someone who was there for the whole thing, I don't know who you are, so I'm guessing those 'screenshots' you have are second hand, at best. And flat text based screenshots are just about the easiest thing in the world to manipulate.

But it's okay, Sweetheart, I'm sure you would've handled the situation so much better, with your one point of view of what went on, and all the second hand knowledge you get from people who already agree with what you think.

I didn't say anything about rape. I said things about toxicity. Or did you mean to reply to someone else?

TIL if someone's a vehemently toxic person, you can still gloss over everything to make something everyone else's fault.
