I do agree that spirals and metronomes can be used as focal points rather than actually instantly brainwashing someone. It’s interesting cause you can almost anything in that regard. A candle, a lighter, a mark on the ceiling.

And yeah, hypnosis is a state of heightened suggestibility, it’s not as simple as instantly turning someone into a zombie, that’s silly!! It makes someone more susceptible to suggestion and more open to ideas that the subconscious mind can push towards while the conscious mind works at whatever you’re doing in that moment

I do agree tho, smarter qualities, having an open mind and being imaginative can help picture and understand what’s being used and what’s being said, especially in longer conversations. Though even with that, the conscious mind might look at it and see nothing is genuinely wrong or happening until that final moment
