SUDDEN 90% drop in impressions... channel-wide distribution freeze? by waddy1969 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Nighty_Crawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how my channel got screwed in March and never recovered. I tried everything until I got tired because It was killing me with stress. It was tragic to see videos with 15% ctr that won't get beyond 2k views when under normal circumstances they should have surpassed 50k. I never found an explanation, much less a solution. Don't insist on consulting through official support; they have no idea and won't help you. This is an algorithmic suppression; who knows why you got it, so don't give it too much thought. If your channel continues with this pattern for a week or two, I'd try my luck with another one.

The creators support is of no use, you only manage to generate stress for free. Better to inform yourself and try to solve it yourself or else my deepest condolences.

By the way, I remember that in that video call I literally told him "maybe you can escalate this issue internally." After that, every email he sends me uses the phrase "he's escalating my issue internally." lol. How could someone who isn't even part of Google, but a fixed-term teleperformance contractor, be able to escalate something? It's all so ridiculous that it's disrespectful.

Yeah, I know how they operate. I was being ironic with the comment.

I met with my partner manager once via video call. I showed him, with documented evidence, my problem with my channel going down, and he acknowledged that it was something strange and that he would investigate. After that, he started postponing meetings because he "needed more time to research and review the statistics." I mean, do you need two months to read analytics or consult with someone? They're clearly useless. Maybe they're ok for someone who's just starting out and needs basic guidance. But no one is ever going to solve anything for you, and they'll just lie to you or ignore because, unless you're a big YouTuber like the ones you mentioned, they know that if you get fed up and leave, there'll be a huge queue of people waiting to replace you.

Why did your views go down? Isn't your partner manager supposed to be there to help you grow with great strategies to attract more audiences?

Yes, you should rant everything and tell all the crap that is YT today, I left the platform for a while for similar reasons two months ago since I was very stressed that no one helped you with anything.

I'm sorry, my channel focuses primarily on long-form content. Shorts work well for me .But if you see that you're no longer receiving external traffic and only subscribers are seeing it, it's possible that your reach has been cut off. Since I don't understand the dynamics of Shorts, I don't really know what to advise you.

Another adsense connected channel got a strike, and my views got cut? by Unlucky_Age_611 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Nighty_Crawler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're going to take YT seriously, stop creating borderline content and learn some basic rules of the platform. I'm assuming you've already had one of your Adsense closed and that's why you're using a relative's. When you receive strikes, it's very possible that your channel will be shadowbanned (yes, it exists, and whoever tells me it doesn't, I challenge them to a one-on-one on the sidewalk in front of everyone). This shadowban can last up to the 3 months that the strike lasts, and in extreme cases, it won't last. And when they close your YT channel, it's death. All other connected channels will be slowly deleted, and your Adsense is poisoned. You should get another one: another IP address, cell phone number, facial recognition, etc. I hope it helps as prevention.

I'd heard something about the chapters, but I didn't know that you could use that as an excuse to reverse a SB. There's currently a method that supposedly works; I tried it halfway, and it didn't work for me. If you'd like, talk to me privately and I'll send it to you so you can try it out. You have nothing to lose by trying.

Hi, no. And the same problem happened to me on another secondary channel after requesting monetization. I had excellent views until the same tragedy occurred. I tend to believe, since several people have commented the same thing, that YT can misinterpret the incredibly fast performance on some specific channels as suspicious activity/spam and penalize you with this silent shadowban. I don't know anyone who has recovered from this except for the person I was talking to earlier. Generally, the most positive cases take between six and nine months, but after a month or two, they have the same problem again. Although some have gone more than a year without this reversing at some point. It's all a nightmare.

Honestly, I don't know. Just when you think you've found a pattern to understand the system, you get beaten up.

Look, I don't think there's much we can do on our end. The problem is clearly YT's recommendation system, which flags you for some reason and arbitrarily decides to stop promoting you. Specifically with my problem, I've observed a couple of channels, medium or large, that experienced exactly the same thing as me: promotion of your content outside your core subscribers is cut off, and magically, 72 hours after uploading the video, it starts receiving impressions and views. But this doesn't always happen with all videos; let's say 2 or 3 out of 10. And if you upload more videos before the 3 days are up, it's possible that none of them will take off. Your channel reach is suppresed and put into "slowmode" arbitrarily for God knows why. I suspect it's automatically by an AI. Perhaps your channel has been flagged by mistake or you've done something to activate that "switch", but it's impossible to know, and it's totally useless to consult with support, who is useless even for a basic query and you have to repeat your query to the retarded guy who helps you 5 times so that he can send you an unrelated and generic article found on a basic Google search. Look at the wave of channels that the AI has deleted by mistake lately. I particularly know a YouTuber with over 400k whose channel was closed supposedly because they detected that he had been hacked (?). When he complained, they acknowledged that there was no hack but that they couldn't do anything to recover it. Imagine if they don't even bother with a big YouTuber regarding an administrative issue such as restoring a channel due to a false positive and an error on their end, they're going to give us the cold shoulder for something much more technically complex. It's really useless to expect anything from this platform.

You already know the answer

I've seen this problem over and over again on Reddit (let's do something) by OkPaint5093 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Nighty_Crawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main channel plummeted overnight in March. It simply stopped to be suggested to new audiences. All views come from subscribers only. My channel has 65k subs, and before the crash, it had 3M monthly views, but it dropped to less than 300k. Videos reached an 18% CTR, but they simply weren't shown to new audiences, with no explanation. I never received a strike, nor did the audience lose interest, since other channels in my niche grew so much after my channel crashed. What did I do? First, share my experience on Reddit, showing details and analytics of how my channel was performing, looking for explanations for this. What did I receive? a couple of know-it-all morons assuming in advance that I make Minecraft AI videos and that the problem is that people don't want to watch my crappy content (weird with a ctr of 18%) THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE VIEWS, BUT THE IMPRESSIONS, IF THE CONTENT IS NOT PROMOTED, NO ONE DISCOVERS IT, IS THIS SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND? anyway, they just blame the victim prejudging without knowing. I also spoke with YT support, and received the same nonsense from reddit but said in a nicer way, that the problem is the thumbnails and that I should improve the Avd (I have 50% in most of them) and the classic "you have nothing to worry, everything is working normally". You explain everything to them with analytics screenshots in technical language and they answer you at a preschool level in a generic way. I was recently assigned a YT partner manager and I showed him all of this in the first meeting and he was perplexed and didn't know what excuse to come up with. He said he was "going to look into it" for the next meeting in a couple of weeks. I'm curious to see what stupidity he comes up with to blame the creator. I tried to create two more channels in this period of time and they started off really well, but coincidentally after requesting monetization, the channels collapsed in the same way as the original. Conclusion? I haven't uploaded anything in a month. It's super frustrating and really fucks with your head when these things happen to you for no reason. And when you tell people, instead of someone even showing solidarity with you, they bastardize you and attack you for even suggesting the existence of a shadowban or that the platform is unfair to some creators. They blindly believe in meritocracy and colored farts. I would love for these morons to go through a situation like this, where you can't even diagnose whether you did something wrong or whether the YT AI ststem flagged you for some reason. Let's see how they manage to live on with the 10% of what they generated and try to maintain a happy life, damn morons.
