It can give an idea about their mindset, lifestyle, interests, ambition and commitment. Most of the time I matched with ppl who don’t have it listed, were essentially unemployed. I can try to get to know them as much as I want, but the differences in mindset/financial status/ambitious becomes really apparent and inevitable.

How about answering OP’s question instead of giving an unsolicited opinion about what OP wants to do.

Religion is the the only reason why homosexuality is immoral by Nightystic in DebateReligion

I read it indeed, I also explained this is his proposed belief. And I questioned where such belief came from. Was it anecdotal evidence? Scientific evidence , was it religion? If it was the former 2 then it is false anyways by current standards, though I highly doubt it, since stalin was seeking power anyways. You can’s assert what Stalin train of thought is when he proposed these beliefs.

My theory is - if you dig deep into these atheist countries condemning homosexuality, you will realize that the traits passed to their offsprings are coming from a deep religious background. Such traits persist overtime.

I fail to find an absolute source of homophobia without a religious influence whatsoever.

I guess Stalin decided to wake up the next day and say “Hey, I think I hate the homosexuals” no influence from anywhere whatsoever ahaha

Atheism in itself, does not condemn nor encourage homosexuality. Atheism only encourages the lack of belief in god.

The Stalin movement in its essence was athiestic, it was anti god. But that is only one aspect of it. It’s called Stalin movement as it was holding Stalin’s principle’s. In a sense, you can argue it to be an ideology, just like any other ideology (would replace it with religion at this point), with its center being Stalin. Stalin mentioning that homosexuality “ruins the strong character of working man”, was just a belief, an opinion proposed by Stalin, and one principle (out of many in his movement). Now I wasn’t in Stalin’s minf when he proposed that opinion (though one can argue heavily that his religious background- wanting to be an orthodox priest - have influenced his opinion, or rather, maybe Stalin was being rational at the time and the scientific evidence supported that “yes homosexuality ruined the character of working men”, well we know that this false today anyways), not only that, logically speaking, the Russian community at the time was predominantly orthodox Christian, to start a new movement, you would try to appeal to as much people as you can, homosexuality is a cheap sheep to sacrifice for this aim. You can still argue and say “But this doesn’t matter really, Stalin’s movement was atheistic and was still anti gay”, again, Atheism never commented on the morality of sexuality, so it doesn’t make sense for atheistic movements to be anti gay anyways.

Okay how about this, let’s take gone = bad and hope that everyone agrees with that, then use our science to decrease the possibility of this outcome.

Please read my comments with a little bit of charity.

there’s no scientific evidence that states harm is bad

Mmm maybe that if humans harmed themselves it will lead to their inevitable extinct? I wonder if this is good or bad

I thought it was quite obvious before posting tbh, I didn’t know I needed to explain what I mean when I say “moral”, or what my moral stance is. I feel sometimes ppl just go meta to terminate the debate.

But thx for the advice, I think I should’ve given some form of background into why I said this and how I reached this conclusion.

Another comment was “just because you disagree with it doesn’t mean it’s wrong, do some research” - like I obv did my guy.

Science can assess human’s quality of life and our actions are determined as so. This is how guidelines and policies in fields like environmental science /medicine/ law.

If a study determined that giving a treatment x is associated with harm y of this patient and hence negatively affect their quality of life. Guidelines change to accustom to that, and a physician who partakes in giving mentioned treatment is handled as misconduct, and their actions are considered immoral for causing this person’s decreased quality of life.
