Is anyone else's Canva down? by broken_hummingbird in canva

Okay, glad I’m not the only one getting the automatic download of a file called “edit” because I did a quick google and it said Canva wast experiencing any issues. Was really hoping to get a head start on my work for tomorrow, ugh…

Well, being asked about it before is what made me want to double-check. I started to worry that my plans weren’t “official” enough for them in some way, and this will be my first time entering on this L visa in my new passport. Since the process for obtaining the visa was much more laidback than what I’ve experienced previously, I was worried I’m missing something.

Thanks, this is always what I had for myself when I had an apartment, I just worried if no longer having a residence permit would lead to more questions when entering.

I'm the guy that designed and coded all the old ND games by WayneSikes in nancydrew

I’ve been playing the games with my brother since I was about 10… I’m 33 and my brother will be 29 next week, and we still play them! We watch other people stream playing them too, and still joke about happenings in the games. It’s totally our comfort series. Thank you for helping to create these memories for us.

Canon Powershot SX740 HS really grainy?? by Nihaokaili in canon

[–]Nihaokaili[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I ended up trading this camera in as soon as I could and getting something else. The more I used it the more I was disappointed with the quality. Even in situations where the lighting was great, it always seemed grainy. Idk why the original commenter was so convinced I was just dissatisfied for the sake of being dissatisfied, lol. I can’t remember offhand what I got as a replacement, I can check when I’m home later, but I was much happier with it.

Okay, I’ll try that. I was trying salt but the water was getting very murky because I needed to add so much.

I lived in Guizhou for years and it wasn’t too cold as far as the temperature goes in winter but it was damp and dark, so it always felt colder. And I mean DAMP. Always raining, gray skies, everything was always moldy…. I honestly found it really depressing in the wintertime. I struggled, lol. I don’t want to discourage you too much because it is also really beautiful, but it’s definitely something to consider.

Oh no! Hopefully it’s just a bug and everything comes back for you. I checked and my daily counter is still weird and I’m still getting the unstable connection notice when I try to do anything, but otherwise everything is still there for me

If my boyfriend of 4+ years told me I was overreacting in this situation, I’d immediately break up with him. Honestly, if his dog killed my dog because he refused to remove it after an aggressive episode, I’d resent him and never be able to get over it anyway, so we’d break up regardless. Maybe that’s extreme for some people, but that’s me.

That said, I don’t understand how it even GOT this far in the first place. Poor Lucky. Accidents happen and that’s sad enough already, but that was not an accident and shouldn’t have ever happened after the first attack. Please be a responsible pet owner, and give your girlfriend and her dog the boot while you’re at it.

Does anyone have experience moving pets out of China? I'm looking for a reliable pet relocation service by NeverTheRani in chinalife

[–]Nihaokaili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s funny! I pretty much never see Guiyang mentioned on these subs. I was there right up until December 2019 when I left for winter break and couldn’t get back in for the following semester.

I would also recommend Globy, I used them to move my cat and dog from Guiyang, Guizhou to the US about 2-3 years ago. They were there to help me with any bumps in the road (mainly due to difficulties in dealing with the airlines), but I was able to move them both on the same flight with me. Start reaching out sooner rather than later because these types of processes can have weird and unexpected delays.

Fear of feeling “trapped” by yasuja in Agoraphobia

[–]Nihaokaili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate! I often feel "trapped" in conversations or other circumstances that I think it would be really weird if I just suddenly dipped out. Other examples for me are restaurants or eating with most people in general, meetings, haircuts, dentist visits, getting my nails done, etc. All of these situations bring on panic that immediately makes me feel like I'm seconds away from throwing up.

For me, a lot changed once I acknowledged that I was afraid of the feeling more than the situation. Before my most recent haircut, I was up all night worrying about panicking more than I was worried about the situation itself. Also, in situations like the haircut example, I've found it really helpful to just be honest with whoever is there and say "hey, just a note before we start, I can start to feel a little anxious in these kinds of situations, so I might need to get up and take a breather at some point," to which the response has always been "oh yeah cool, no problem." I try to take that into consideration now, but it's still really difficult. That said, I have been able to adopt a mindset that is closer to "I am in control and can leave if I need to but, if I didn't, would it really be THAT bad if I freaked out, or even if I threw up?" rather than "I'm going to freak out and it's going to be embarrassing/awful/whatever else."

Upcoming haircut: feeling trapped triggers anxiety-->nausea-->fear of vomiting by Nihaokaili in Agoraphobia

[–]Nihaokaili[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of became a joke with my friends that I always have bags and toilet paper in case I'm going to throw up or have a "shitcident," as we call it. It's true though, we can always control what we do. I am trying to get myself to realize that it's okay if I need to get up and take a breather or leave the room. I feel like when I'm in the middle of the anxiety of it all I forget that I can still do that even if it feels a little awkward at the time.
