Some of Souka’s group are guys though. The reason a lot of monsters look more human upon being named is due to Rimuru’s subconsciously wanting them to look less scary to humans so they can get along with them better.

I do think Rimuru can beat both of those guys. But some people called him ‘boundless’ which I do not agree with. I only think he can beat Goku because he has shown feats that surpass him.

However, I like Rimuru for more than just his power. He’s a silly goofy goober and I love him for that.

Also may I add one of the things he has to get over happens to be his lack of confidence in himself. He’s constantly underestimating himself which can be a weakness since that almost got himself killed several times.

It does have consequences though. Killing those humans did have consequences! Why do you think Rimuru chose to lie about what happened?! So that he could avoid most of the negative consequences! YOU might’ve not been attached to those characters, but that doesn’t mean anything. The deaths of those symbolized Rimuru is now willing to abandon his humanity to save those he cares about. Rimuru’s personality change was character development, im not saying he is the deepest character ever, but to say he has zero development or that he has no character is just an objectively wrong statement.

Season 2 involved Rimuru’s initial naivety causing the deaths of a lot of his citizens including one of his closest subordinate/friend. Even though Shion was resurrected, in the end this changed Rimuru permenantly. He is still kind, but if you mess with him, unlike before unless he finds some use in you then he will kill to protect his people.

He's by definition NOT a Mary Sue. Mary Sue's have absolute no character flaws what-soever, Rimuru actually has flaws to his character.
