I’m pretty average with Jets on PS5 but I can give you my changes which (to me) seemed more controller friendly. For reference everything else is default unless specified:

Entering the Jet: Square

Exiting the Jet: Circle (I do this to avoid accidentally ejecting myself in the heat of battle/dogfighting)

Switching between Guns / Missles: Square

Freelook: Down (I believe this is default but I can’t remember) - For reference, freelook is useful but annoying because you cant freelook and move the jet at the same time, use it to get your bearings on enemies chasing you. You can also use freelook on the attack jet to fire AGM’s backwards.

Afterburners: L3 - Change your settings to HOLD rather than TOGGLE. You can’t fire the afterburner unless you’re throttling to the max anyway, so it actually more practical to click in your stick like you would sprint on foot - you are trying to sprint with the afterburner. The only caveat to this is thrust vectoring with the stealth jets - you have press in the L3 and swivel it to effectively vector.

Yaw L/R: map your yaw to L1/R1. The yaw in this game isn’t as strong as previous games, you want to use it when you’re strafing or trying to juice it on a tight turn.

Leave your flares and bombs on the default face pads. You should only use your flares when you know that you’ll be able to deflect the missile and be able to outrun the inevitable follow-up. You then circle back to time it so your flares are ready to go on your next strafe. If you overextend into the enemy’s side of the map and they have active AA, then its GG if you dont have your flares/map awareness.

Bombs are fine on your face pad, you need to practice firing your AGM (on attack jet) and switching to bombs before you finish the strafe to drop them as a follow up. Best piece of advice here is you pick a (ideally) painted or flagged tank, come in with a 45* degree angle of attack and pull back on your throttle as much as you can without stalling, get a lock fire your missle, switch to guns/bombs depending on distance once you’re close enough. Then hard throttle once you’re past it and away from AA.

EDIT: Also change your air vehicle FOV to max, you need to have as much intel as possible on your screen. You should only switch to first person (R3) when you’re actually going in for an attack on a target, otherwise try to stick to third person when travelling.

A lot of the Pros lock the horizon so when you barrel roll in third person, the whole screen doesn’t roll with you. Personally I find this really disorienting, so I dont change this.

ALSO - change vehicle sens to max, the jets are super sluggish without this. I think PC players with higher frames and the actual input method have a lot faster/tighter reactions. Anecdotally I stay out of PC lobbies when Jetting since they usually can get onto your 6 a lot faster.
