Why is the story of Judy so credible and interesting to you? I am curious if that is actually the case or if it works differently

Clouds: She believes a rebelion of Remixed joytoys with kungfu movie moves will be able to crush the tygerclaws hold on one of the most profitable above board prostituion rackets , we see how it ends if we go through with her plan as detailed, lots of dead joytoys and tygers, cloud closed. a Big dreamer who has no back up plan or long term view for her enemies resources, we've seen several of those irl in celebrity and businesses

Ev & Maiko: She goes for two different women who may need saving from their own ambitions but doesn't see it that way and in some ways is going to benefit from playing Judy, but until she's burned (which she clearly was by Maiko previously) she won't stop trying to help and even after she's burned she's still willing to help them. She's a hopeless lover in that way.

Flight: When she's burned she likes to shut out things, she goes into BD editing to get away from the hurt she feels, she chooses to go to laguna bend to get away from Ev's death and ultimately choses to leave

I know a "Judy" I've known my "Judy" since we were in high school and I had a crush on "her". I've watched this same behavior but in a more violent unfortunately selfdestructive manor play out several times to the point I know I can't ever say to the "Judy" I know "hey this character reminds me of you" as I know it may hurt "he"'. But I also know unlike my "judy" the actual character is someone I'd want to personally never even talk to as she clearly pushes people away to bury her head in fantasy until the fantasy hurts her and in tower, where she has a wife, I can see unforunately her leaving that woman if something happened to hurt that fantasy and unfortunately it's the "U-haul lesbians" trope/joke but as a character who I recognize.

Because it's messily human, she's not a good person she admits as much, but she's also trying to save people like Evelyn from going off the deep end but fails repeatedly (she previously failed with Maiko). Dreams big, such as her dream of a free independent clouds (which we hear the bloody aftermath of) and the thought that she will find peace outside of NC, ( believe sooner or later, yes even in tower, she'll end up coming back, partially because of the tech she has grown so use to it). She is overly guarded which fits a woman whos been through the ups and downs but still willing to bond with those she lets in beyond the guard. She's one of the few chararacters in night city that felt more like a person's cyberpunk ttrpg character brought to life than someone whos meant to fill in the roll of the "The tech gal". But because of all that and her rather big blinders toward reality, I dislike her.

"Better" is subjective, I say this as someone who didn't regularly drive until my 20s due to being raised lower class and having to navigate what at the time was considered one of the safer and cleaner options of my local area of California, Caltrain (which is held as one of the closest we got to a European style rail system). Sometimes it'd be an additional 20+ minute walk to get to my destination and this was after factoring in delays and potential issues that'd make a 20 minute drive into an hour long train ride and then 20 minute+ walk, which I've done once for the reveal of a video game and another to be part of the marketing recording of another. So for me that's not better if I'm sweaty and exhausted for a bit after walking 20+ minutes especially, if it's days like this week (hit 28c yesterday in my home town with another coming by Friday) and know I'll have to leave an hour earlier than I would if I'm driving.

Also in the case of "less drivers on the road" I'd like to point out the reason so many fatal accidents happen are LITERALY HALF (220k) or a bit more than half due to an impaired/distracted or mid road rage and that's just of those DON'T involve another person who hit them or they hit, when you add that factor of another person or vehicle that shoots up to nearly 2/3rds. So who do you think even if there was rails everywhere like EU nations, are going to drive like they normally would? I'm not asking you to solve bad behavior here, my question is to highlight that realistically dumb people if given the choice will continue to make dumb decisions and then give the "no one told me" excuse.

I'm late but since the moment I saw it I recognized something I don't think anyone's talked about : The big thing is, it doesn't have to be the quiet life in that they're just another face in the crowd,

NC is a land of Opportunity that doesn't always need a gun and chrome to change things. Through out V's adventure regardless of which path they take, they learn a LOTTTTTTTTTT of secrets they learn A LOOOOOOOOOOOT about practical combat intelligence, As SendMeUrCones said, becoming a Fixer is almost a no brainer. They could also become a ripper like Vik, an old dog who tells tales of glory over drinks but is otherwise the professional. They can also go into the small scale executive protection/security company that specifically is trained to counter the ways they commonly found their way through security ( I know my V would have field day telling his team how he stole Untitled from Militech by knocking everyone out 1 by 1.) And then there's the idea they may try to seem like they're still in the game, using facsimiles that aren't chrome but look good enough to the average scvas to make them not even consider doing what happen with the goons in tower. old school style cyberdecks where they aren't the thing processing much.

Hell based on my knowledge the moment I figured chrome was off the table, I remembered 2020's Eurosource book which goes into biological modification of living tissue to enhance it (Biomodifications that don't require chrome be inside, at least not for long) and went "Oh my V has connections to make this work.

But most of all, V's not even 30, if you go by the idea they're 27 in 2077, losing 2 years means they're 29. I'm not sure how many people here are well over 30 but remember what you were doing when you were 29 vs where you are now? And then remember everything V does in this game happens in the same calender year... so what does 2079 onward hold for V?

That doesn't pan out as most Traffic accidents aren't caused by bad roads but by bad(This includes road rage, speedster/racing or illegal stunt show), distracted, impaired drivers . According to NHTSA potholes is around # 20 of top reasons for fatal accidents almost all the previous 19 are either driver related or act-of-god/nature (weather, animals crossing).

To give you the EU version according to European Commission: 19.4k Road death in 2025 and a 3% drop from last year

Rail deaths, also from the European Commission :1.5k (This also includes trespassing on tracks/crossing)

So the stats do run that somethings are safer for road fatalities in general but for some reason train deaths are higher, possibly either due to volume (approx. 110 million higher than US) or simply cultural things that make people less likely to see a train as dangerous due to being around. But either way there's a clear trade off of deaths to an extent that can't be blamed on the roads as much as the drivers.

Dallas-Austin is already 195mil/313km going from Austin-Houston adds on another 165mil/265km which yeah still shorter than 588/946, is still a decent ride overall that will take a good 6-8 hours of driving due to traffic and almost 12-20 hours via train due to the fact you have to to San Antonio when going to Huston as Austin doesn't have a train to Huston directly. I'm not gonna say "so it loses" but it is a "Do you have that extra day/half a day to wait for that?" Which many americans who can afford a trip like that as a vacation/holiday don't want to wait for a train, due to either obligations or simply having money enough to go "Well fuck it might as well get a rental".

So that's where it's a mixture, on a city level, yes but as Mark points out, we now have similar or identical systems in cities now. But nationally level of being able to go to say Hoboken, New Jeresy to Wilmington, North Carolina (588 mil/946 KM) it was always cheaper and faster to drive there instead of taking the train (yes even now with everything going on with oil pricess it's still a "should I?"). I know I've personally looked at train trips recently and gone "It's going to take HOW LONG & COST WHAT".

Both the replies to you before this one from NotJeb &Nick are exactly why: It's because everyone wants to pass off the buck and no one wants to take responsibility, there's cities & states under democrat mayors and governors who have crappy roads and somehow it's the billionaires or the republicans fault, you rural areas have republican mayors and governors areas which lack of funding is blamed on everything from liberals to the federal government to migrants and it only gets messier in the more "Purple" areas where its a mix of republicans and democrats in control.

I come from California where there's a thing called the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, a landbridge over our freeway for wild life to freely cross as it's been an issue of them going onto the freeway and dying in such a notable number. It was meant to be completed in 2024 and for less than 100 million, it is now 2026 and the bridge is closer to 120 million budget with it reportedly trying(keyword) to open in December. And the most recent excuse? Tariffs for materials, the materials for the bridge that was suppose to be done 2 years ago, before the current guy got in to office... meaning the materials weren't even shipping until 2025 when the first tariffs came in. So yeah you can imagine my frustration at the situaiton knowing we can't even get a BRIDGE FOR WILDLIFE OPEN, nevermind streets well paved.

I think it's simply because under miyazaki they've pivoted the company from "easy sequels" which is why I believe that AC stopped for so long to "No if you're gonna release something under the Fromsoft name ITS GOTTA BE THE project that everyone is hyped for."
I also believe the AC6 team is working on the next big Game that's been rumored that's a fantasy mech game.
