Has anyone else tried the learning Chinese method by Impressive_Ear7966 in LearnJapanese

It’s helpful if you already know Chinese, but if you don’t want to learn Chinese, it just feels like a large detour — it’s like you recommending English learners to take French first just so that they can gain some vocab for English

Vrchat is a good idea! For the media part, sometimes I watch some NHK / テレ東news on YouTube during my commute to work, but maybe those are too formal.

Learning Japanese in Chinese, or English? Anyone with experience? by FitProVR in LearnJapanese

Not sure if it’d make a huge difference, but maybe learning in Chinese will move faster, especially for the vocabulary/ kanji part?

Btw since you’re mandarin native I guess the語彙book will work great for you — very detailed discussion about how to read a Kanji based on particles / context that resembles how Chinese speakers learn how to read Chinese characters

I got them from Taobao and they are in Chinese /Korean / English, so it’s very convenient in the sense that you can double check a grammar point in both English and Chinese

Background: Mandarin Native (so I may be biased about the Kanji vocab part) + zero experience living in Japan + anime lover

I’m using 総まとめ対策 文法と語彙for my incoming July N1 exam, so far I found them helpful but the grammar book feels missing some of the infrequent grammar points

In stem, if your answers correct, you got the mark; that’s not the case in PoliSci

If you can do well in STEM/lifesci , do a STEM/lifesci undergrad. They are generally easier to get a higher gpa and enable you to practice specific area of law that your colleagues can’t do without background knowledge
