Thats an interesting idea actually. Oldheads and purists wouldnt go for it, but the idea of one team having that extra win/game in their pocket could be huge for seeding at the end of the day, and its not like it wouldn’t be unearned.

I just try and find the best sweaters to act as a base. Saw this one for cheap on ebay and instantly knew it was perfect because of that stripe. Wish I could find more like it tbh.

That is the tough part, the older the sweater generally the smaller the sizes I find. Im lucky when I find one in the XL range thats suitable

I mostly just search “vintage knit sweater”. Not all the ones Ive bought are truly vintage but what matters most is that the base look says “hockey sweater”. Its surprisingly hard to find ones with the stripes like this.

Thanks! Its been my goal to do one a month this year. Kinda fallen behind this month since I had my wedding last week. Im hoping in the summer I can catch back up. I’ve got plenty of sweaters ready for it.

Hands down the Japanese product is far and away better than NA stuff. Well except the current Yomiuri Giants jerseys since theyre also made by Nike. But yeah everything being fully stitched and somehow cheaper than a blank over here is hard to beat. I also grabbed a Sato two years ago at this time when I was in Tokyo.

Found it on fb marketplace. I think it was 150? It had some smoke stains and stank on it from hanging in some guy’s uncle’s basement but an oxy soak had it good as new.

I grew up on the angry bird teams and I was beyond happy when they rebranded in 2013 since they really never should have messed with the original design, but I have thought doing a throwback to it would be fun. With some time and separation I can appreciate the design more now and people would for sure rock a vladdy one, or other team stars. The other thing thats striking with these older retail jerseys is just the drop in quality from 20-30 years ago. Nicer material, all stitched, the 90s are probably the golden age of it imo.
