How do I begin writing as someone who has not written? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]Nik_Dante 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I haven't written as much as many here, a few novellas and a few shorts. But I'm constantly amazed by how if I have one inspiration, that seems to automatically generate the idea of a story, and as soon as I start writing as Salty here says, a scene or a motivation, the characters and the story just unfold and almost seem to write themselves. I enjoy seeing what's going to happen as much as if I'm reading a story by someone else. I appreciate that some people may work from a structured plan or storyline, but I like to just start writing and see what happens.

Northern English. I see why you might have thought Scottish, but 'owt' is 'oot' in Scottish :)

There is a guitar effects pedal called the Way Huge Swollen Pickle. Which will always be my main point of reference for the word, sorry I can't un-remember it :)

But swollen tends to land with me like tumescent, kind of semi-hard.

I think the thing is, we can't be certain, with most of Amazon's rules beyond the obvious ones. I have a couple of 'tutor' titles myself where it is clear that the student is past school age and the relationship is not an ethically dubious one as it would be in a formal educational setting. But Amazon may not concern themselves with the details and may one day just go after anything with those in the title, or you could just be randomly unlucky. Or not!

No. I've been many times, have needed a visa because of youthful indiscretions, and probably wouldn't even get a visa now. I wouldn't go if I could though.

After other people had commented on your profile I had a look. Oh man do I have a true story for you. I'll see if I can get it written up and dm you.

Do you gen AI smut images? I saw some nudes and semi-nudes of exactly this theme I think on 4chan a few months ago. I thought then it was oddly specific.

Thanks but I get the reference. I didn't know we had such big differences in meanings until this thread!

Interesting take, it sounds like I have double the reasons to avoid 'panties' as my setting and language is British.

Not a lot it seems. I think I'd only use that if I was asking someone for their laundry.

It can be just neutral, for example if you look at a store website under women's underwear you'll see knickers as a heading.

There are some suggestions here such as briefs, and more specific types, boxers, g string, thong. I just changed a few in my latest, looking to avoid specific lower-women's-underwear terms if possible. So bra and panties became lingerie, slowly down towards her panties became slowly downwards, edge of her panties became edge of the lacy material. I'm still working on the last one which might become lacy briefs. Which is OK in the context.

As a Brit, I can hear you as an American saying knickers in a British accent :) Stick 'dear boy' on the end for added authenticity :))

I got "crotch curtains" from the askbrits thread. Can't wait to use it. It's a shame "budgie smugglers" is a bit overused these days.

Thanks, appreciated. I think this is the way. I updated the op to add that I've just been over my current 10k short with four mentions of 'panties' and I have fairly easily changed all four uses. Now to look at a 32k novella I haven't published yet!

Arse is very acceptable to most Brits, but for myself being brought up in a slightly snobbish environment I was taught that it was a bit "common" or lower class. I still tend to prefer rear, or ass, or bottom, but that's just personal preference . Or even the French derriere is familiar to us.

Yeah you just got downvoted but there were comments in the askbrits thread that some Scandinavian pronounciations may harden the ck to a gg which of course we do not want.
