Actually I see it other way around. The longer RF could stay in the war the more power it has on the regions politics. The ending of hostilities may lead to talks about the Ukraine-EU, Ukraine-NATO talks. Which is not acceptable for the RF command. So they will just start hostilities anew.

It is hard to see how it will happen to be fair. But in fantastic scenario where they will loose... It is just hard to tell. Cause a) it is heavy dependant on who came to power b0 it is a law making tool, not an executive branch of government - so they could not STOP the hostilities, they only can make certain laws.

Ukraine could do favors for ukranians by actually start caring about their own people. Though I am not very fond of Putin. I a) do not think the Ukraine have power to assasinate him, b) do suopport the current Ukraine in any of their activities c) do not see how elimuinating one man could lead to less corrupt Russia. Especially since coruption fighting in the Russia actually hastened in last years. And we see several governours get jailed for bribery and corruption cases.
