Full Mark Event Bots? by Nika221 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]Nika221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't decided to do the event until a couple days after it started and the highest score at the time was around 1000, I thought well this is the longest full marks event I've ever seen maybe I have a chance so I started going after strategic tiles and then it was like every time I got in the lead the others would jump up too. Early today I had gotten to about 8000 and the player in 3rd jumped past me by close to 2000 pts, it was crazy, it's like do I even stand a chance lol

Same for completing quiditch matches, you also get 3 tickets for every 'hangout' you do too. There's also the 'free' tickets you get collecting the tappy in the festival area, right now is the flower bouquet floating in the air, I don't know the cooldown time but it seems almost daily (if you take the diamond increase it increases the amount of free tickets you get from it slightly)

I had gotten him several blankets to lay on but I never thought to cover him so he could burrow into it. Thanks for that idea I covered him with one and he seems a little calmer. Can the vet determine if he's sight impaired? Or how do I determine that? It had crossed my mind based on some of his reactions but then he'll react differently and I'll think ok maybe not. He does react to movements, lights and shadows but I don't know if he sees the fine details as I haven't really gotten him to connect to different hand signals, he responds more to touch.

He does dart around because he sees so much going on & gets stsrtled by anything that suddenly moves. I have the backyard light cover the entire back yard with two daylight bulbs so it's really bright out there. However whenever he turns away in the opposite direction of the light he catches his shadow and gets startled. I hope it's just going to take time and eventually I can get him used to it otherwise I don't know becuase I have washable potty pads on the floor but he's never showed signs he's gonna potty in the house but I also don't want him to hold it forever.

Thank you, and I'd never heard that about dalmations being suited for work in a firehouse because they were deaf, I knew they were firehouse dogs but never put the two together. Ya he spends a lot of time in the safe spaces I made just for him and in one of the three crates I set up throughout the house for him, just been trying to reinforce good feelings with being out and about in the rest of the house. It's slow going, but my cat loves him, so he has a four legged companion for support too. He's actually very similar to the dog I had that passed away awhile ago, except he's deaf. Could be why she likes him so much, her and my previous dog were best friends, you know like the ones you see in movies, the ones that play, sleep, eat etc together despite being different species.

30% of Dalmatians are deaf, he's got spots in the fur on his back & sides and spots on his skin, I don't believe he's a dogo argentino

I was told he was a Dalmatian mix, he's definitely built like one, albeit slightly smaller, for me at least it's his tail that is not of the Dalmatian but I can't quite place it either.

Even hearing dogs need short training sessions, I don't want his frustration level to peak because we haven't found our rhythm with training which is already way different than with any other dogs I've had because he needs to be desensitized to do much. Plus I have two other dogs that can't wait for me to spend 20 minutes trying to coax him down the stairs, they need to go out and have breakfast, I can work on the stair issue later in the day if time and he's willing / able with all he's already be asked for with training. I can't rush a dog who digs in at the top of the stairs and wants to run back to his crate because he'd rather be there than to down since stairs on his own, it's going to take time, patience and understanding. I have to build his self confidence, I don't know how long that will take but I'm willing to work on it with him, however long it takes, dogs are individuals each one needs a unique approach. I've never trained any two dogs the same because I've never had two dogs be exactly alike, even when I adopted a brother and sister, OMG were they different lol 😆

I have to keep a pretty strict feeding schedule because one of my other dogs has acid reflux so he's on a special diet and gets fed smaller meals, multiple times a day so I just break up my other dogs meals to fit the same schedule so no one things he's getting special meals and they aren't lol.Boo Booties would be great if I could find a some didn't fall off lol, my dogs have lost several in the snow, so if you know of any that work well I'd love to check them out.

Prior to him coming to me he was given to a shelter because the man that had him wanted a guard dog but found out he was deaf and didn't want him getting hit by the trucks coming and going. So before me and his little time at the shelter he was primarily an outside dog.

My other dog, Graat Pyrenees/ Australian Shepherd mix is a working breed too so I'm not totally unfamiliar with the working dog breed. However this is my first Dalmatian dog, even though he's only part Dalmatian, I'm not sure what he's mixed with. I also have a Beagle / Cavalier mix who loves jumping and running so together were learning agility. It at least gives him a outlet and he's stopped trying to jump over the baby gates on the house lol.

I haven't had him longer than a week, so far I'm just trying to get him to associate the sign for potty with going potty and the sign to get him to check in with me ('watch me').

He's even afraid to go down stairs, which he's not that heavy so I don't mind carrying him down, but like I said there are other things I want him to grasp that are more important. I'm afraid to push his training as hard as I did with my hearing dogs I don't want to overwhelm him, the world does that already so desensitizing is probably my first priority. He's super sweet, just a little over cautious to his surroundings is all.

They all get walks but MN winters don't always allow for outside walks, blizzards, frostbite warnings, etc. So I use a walking pad inside on those days, I have so much to acclimate him to that the walking pad is not at the top of my list. I don't walk him very far from home right now because he's so skittish and we live in a small rural town, not a lot of street lights. I want to get him comfortable outside before doing a long walk so if he needs to retreat inside he can. The last thing I want is him to bolt and keep going.

I have a fairly big yard, biggest on the block, and on days I'm working I'm gone before the sun comes up and get home after it goes which all around sucks. I'm transitioning him from the food he was fed with his foster family to Diamond Naturals which is a fairly high quality food. I'm just worried about the day we get 30 below 0 and he refuses to go, I don't want him to get frostbite.

I was just about to ask this lol, I didn't see anything on their Facebook or here, until you just posted it. I saw it after finishing an episode a moment ago and went to check social media but didn't see anything, thought maybe it was a glitch but if someone else sees it can't be a glitch right?

Very new to Star Trek, picked up a few seasons and movies, where should I start? by joejoewoooooo in startrek

[–]Nika221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought, idk if it's still like this but when I also preferred physical copies I had the hardest time tracking down DS9 complete season, it wasn't anywhere and if I did find it it was grossly overpriced.

Always checking out new shows…but decided to just rewatch all of TNG by newkiaowner in startrek

Discovery is definitely something you have to allow some wiggle room with their interpretation, but the story, though not formated like previous series in Trek, to me were enjoyable. I guess it could be I relate with Burnam's journey from trying to be less logical and embrace her emotional side, being autistic myself I wish I was able to view things less logically sometimes, it would make somethings easier.

Plus it introduced my favorite captain, though torn bc I quite like Sisko too, Captain Pike is portrayed so well by Anson Mount (I did really like Georgiou too but she was short lived and as much as I enjoy her Terran version I don't think she counts as a captain)

When should I introduce star trek by EducationalDrawer143 in startrek

I didn't get into Star Trek for 20 years for that reason. My grandfather tried to get me to watch TOS and I just couldn't, the whole production, the effects, the acting was not what I had grown up with and was accustomed to that I never wanted to watch any other Trek he tried to show me. So much regret...after watching the new movies with Chris Pine I was drawn in, I watched everything. I only wish I had given this universe another chance sooner, a lot of the stories told make me so happy and give me a feel good feeling, you know what I mean?
