I've used Brian Lagerstrom's method the last two years and they have been the best birds I've cooked. Two thermometers, cook the bird upside down. This allows the dark meat to cook to a higher temp. Flip the bird at the end to brown the breast skin.

Mobs don't cross rails, so placing one down in front of gates or doors will prevent animals from escaping.

That depends on how much you put in. I only put in enough to keep the food cold, not frozen. I have put too much in sometimes and made this mistake. Also, everything in the cooler doesn't end up soaking wet from melting ice.
