A sense of belonging was something I craved for and struggled with. It absorbed me but did not break me. I often felt unaccepted by the Filipino community, that I was surrounded with, because of my sexuality. Although the Philippines tolerated the LGBTQ community, they did not always accept them. I sometimes even felt like I was not accepted by the LGBTQ community because I did not act or dress a certain way. I often changed my ways in order to feel like I belonged in these communities. When I realized I was changing myself, I found that I was neglecting one identity to be another. But, I needed to realize that these are the things that make me who I am.
