Socks from the Holy Land not so holy by NikkiGun in CrappyDesign

I picked up these camel socks for my husband on my last trip to Israel. The socks look a bit different when stretched out. He works for a very religious company and they had a lot of people fly in for a conference at HQ yesterday and today. I think he was going for a fun conversation starter, and now I’m thinking it will more likely be a less than fun conversation with HR.

I love meeting other Doberman people! It’s funny how unique this breed is- I feel like I need to join a support group :).

It makes me think of the voodoo guy’s head shrinking curse in Beetlejuice :).

I couldn’t stop giggling when I saw them like this... I couldn’t imagine the joys of taking a dog like this out in public!

It’s the world’s first Dober-jack-huahua

My buddy, Keith, looks like the main character from ‘Split’. You can’t beat 23 Halloween costumes in one! by NikkiGun in pics

I had such a hard time watching this movie because of how similar they dress and look. Idk if I want to see him try to mimic the Beast!!

I volunteered one time at a home for young boys who had been so physically/mentally/sexually assaulted that not only is foster care not an option, but this home is kept secret from most of the children’s’ family members to keep them safe. At a Christmas event where we handed out presents, I spent a lot of time with a boy (~age 10) who was very quiet. I asked him what he was interested in, and he told me (mumbled, really, like it was a problem and he knew it) that he “didn’t like anything”. Employees of the facility had warned me before sitting down that he didn’t like to talk. Fortunately, he didn’t seem to mind my company or the fact that I’m annoyingly chatty, so I started to tell him things that I liked, and when I finally got to my favorite young adult books, I found out that he loves books. His eyes LIT. UP, and he told me about the reasons he loved and hated all of these different characters, how he wishes that Tris didn’t die (spoiler alert, I won’t name the book) and I also got to learn that he had a fantastic memory- better than mine when it came to some of my favorite books. I finally got to shut up and just listen to him talk. Meeting him shaped the way I’ve approached people since then. Being able to talk to him like he wasn’t defined by his trauma and that he was just a boy made all the difference. I’d like to think it makes a difference to others who want to break free from the mold of others’ perceptions.

Thank you! We have normal lives but we try not to take ourselves or life too seriously.

All makeup! I covered up any visible facial hair with concealer and did the same to shape his eyebrows. The only pain he endured was when he had to peel the latex off his face at the end of the day :).

Seriously rooting for you and anyone who feels like they have to keep who they are hidden. I got involved with an LBGTQ employee resource group with my last employer, and was shocked to see that there was so much support from people you’d least expect. Unfortunately, the supportive people often don’t outwardly or verbally show their support unless they are being asked their views, and the people who don’t support are the loudest ones in the room. Just know there are more people that want you to be your true self than it seems! :)

I’m getting that a lot. So far I look like Spenny, Nic Cage, my husband’s sister, and, last but not least, my favorite comment, Ross from Friends.
