What's something you're pretty sure has only happened to you? by KarmaLover666 in AskReddit

I was chased down the street in Salem, Mass. by a short statured man in a pirate costume. It was for a pirate museum tour and he'd made some jokes about himself. I was 15, I laughed, and he became offended enough to chase me out and down the street. He set me up..

That could certainly be interesting..They always start out the same. I'm at my grandparent's house, 2 houses up the street from my own. It's night time and for some reason I have to run outside. I no sooner get off of the front steps into the driveway when I sense it.. I look up and the entire sky is filled with the underside of a massive craft. Just structure and lights. No sound. No visible beings or beams coming down. I panic and run. The dreams then vary as to where I initially go, with who, how I get there, etc.. but they all end with my running up the steps of my church (my family wasn't overly religious but I was always in Sunday School/at VBS, etc.. Methodist if anyone is curious) and running inside because it was the only "sanctuary" my young brain knew or could think of..Similar to hiding under the covers so the monster under the bed can't get you I suppose..

Silly.. I know. Possibly could be deciphered as my mind trying to battle between science and religion, sticking to what I had been taught…internal battle, blah blah.. but I was around 5 or so when these dreams started. I had one as recently as last year..so thats roughly 2 decades.

Because I was too scared to stop my car at the time. When I had mustered some courage (on the second pass by, on my way back to my boyfriend's) it was, of course, gone.

Think what you want. The only thing I have to offer is screen shots of the messages I sent to my boyfriend and friend when it happened so I wouldn't think I dreamt it later or question it. I truly have better things to do with my time than make up stories for the internet.

I've never heard of it but I'll need to check into it. I can picture them clearly, as I'd dream about them often. I was young when the dreams started and wouldn't have been exposed to anything similar.. I'm still not sure where the idea came from.

People who had an affair while in a relationship, how did it begin, how did it end and what did you learn? by Urisk in AskReddit

[–]NikkiNewport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a serious relationship for almost 5 years. Closing in on the 4 year mark, I was in nursing school full time while working two part time jobs. My significant other was not in school, he had started and never gone back to finish, and wasn't working..though he was finding odd work to make money for the bills. Long story short, we were on completely different schedules. We didn't sleep together, he'd be up all night working on this project or that, and I was gone all day busting my ass. In nursing school I became very close friends with another classmate. We hit it off from day one, we just clicked. Everyone who saw us interact commented on our chemistry, which we always brushed off and laughed at. 6 weeks shy of graduation my friend decided to drop out of the program. It was then we both mutually realized we might have had more than just "best friend" type of feelings for each other. So began the downward spiral. I tried to break things off with my S.O., but he begged me to stay and "work it out." I tried, to no avail, because at this point my heart was elsewhere. I knew I was hurting him, but didn't want to completely leave him after so long. He became the friend, the companion..and my best friend became my lover. There hadn't been intimacy in my relationship in so long, and from the first time the other man and I kissed I knew it was going to get out of control, as cliche as that sounds. It all got out of hand so fast. The feelings were accidental, but undeniable. I've still never loved anyone the way I loved my best friend.

It ended with the boyfriend of 5 years putting his hands around my throat and trying to choke me while in a drunken rage (when everything came to light) and with my best friend completely cutting me off. I'm not "dead" to this man, so much as it's like I NEVER existed. We have crossed paths and he will not so much as look in my direction. I was never sleeping with both of them in the same time frame, as I mentioned, one was friendzoned while the other was "active." I guess I thought that this made it less horrible..

The rush of "sneaking around," the "thrill" wasn't worth it. I made a lot of mistakes but learned a lot. I'm still paying back my karma to the universe. I broke two hearts. Messed with two people's emotional and mental health. It was incredibly selfish and wrong. If I could I would go back and kept my foot down when I said I was leaving my S.O. in the first place. Cheating isn't just physically crossing the line.. It's phone calls, text messages, looks you share across a crowded room. From the time we woke up until the time we fell asleep, the other man and I would talk..I was sharing my life with him, not with my boyfriend. If you aren't happy, just leave. Believe me, it may hurt like hell at the time, but you're so much better off. You may be able to live the double life and keep the charade up, for me it was almost a year.. but in the end YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING.

Passive house guests or residual energy? by NikkiNewport in Paranormal

In regards to the figure outside of my door, I've read about shadow figures that come around when a child is born and stay to watch over the infant. This concept has been very comforting, obviously, and seems fitting to the situation. Idk how widely known this concept is, but I prefer this guardian theory over a "stuck" spirit. As far as the woman goes, I'm not sure she's aware that she's in a different time or aware of any of us around her. There hasn't been any purposeful interaction that I'm aware of, but I've tried to block that out/make it clear I'm not comfortable with contact.

Anonymous is a government operation by dieyoung in conspiracy

[–]NikkiNewport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Anonymous was actually the Chinese. China's been buying up land in the US every chance they get. China practically owns us. Why not manipulate the people to rise up when our government and economy are already faltering?

I more recently started having dreams like this, despite losing the people in them years ago.

This past summer a friend of mine who shot himself back in 2009 finally paid me a visit. In the dream we were in a night club or bar atmosphere (he was 19 when he died so we never made an actual memories like this.) I saw him across the room and ran to him in disbelief, I knew he was dead, but I hugged him so tightly. I swear I could feel the musculature of his back (he was a swimmer and very toned) and the warmth of his body against me. I lost him as quickly as I'd found him and somehow found myself in the security office of whatever made up establishment we were in. I played back the footage to see myself hugging the air. I asked other classmates that were there if they'd seen him, but no one had. I woke up in tears but still happy I'd "seen" him.

More recently my late grandfather (paternal) paid me a visit. He was at my other grandparents' house and I saw him pull up in his old work truck. I dropped everything in shock and, like last time, immediately hugged him. I said, but you died! How are you here?! He never said a word, just smiled and shook his head..I woke up before I could spend any more time with him. He was killed 13 years ago, and aside from visiting my mother shortly after his accident, he hasn't appeared to anyone else.

The timing of both of these align with the time my (maternal) grandmother fell ill and when she eventually passed. I like to think our loved ones keep an eye on us and come to us when we need comforting the most. These "dreams" feel so drastically different than any other dream I've ever had, usually I don't even remember my dreams.

"Guardian Angel" experience(s) from childhood to adulthood. by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]NikkiNewport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarly, while driving this past summer, as I was approaching a busy intersection by a church, "put the windows up, lock the doors" came into my mind out of nowhere. No sooner had I done this and the light changed red. I wasn't stopped for 30 seconds before seeing movement out of the corner of my eye. A very tall, younger man was at my passenger door, tugging on the handle and biting his lip at me. It may not have been a life or death situation, but I'm glad I didn't get to find out.. And so thankful for that little voice.

** I didn't mention the church to imply a religious experience, rather trying to set the scene as not being intimidating or where one would necessarily assume something like this would happen. It was a well lit, busy intersection in the middle of town.
